Extremely. He is actually the most unnerving boss of all time for me. He gives me the actual creeps. One small tap in, in the middle of the ocean, with a boss that is 10x stronger than the final boss, all while being vaguely designed after a HP Lovecraftian horror show. Yeah fuck that guy. Cant wait to see what he is like in the remake.

I remember Emerald Weapon being susceptible to demi so I placed gravity materia on each character alongside w-magic and quadra magi. Also had counter-mime on my characters. I beat him with the timer up, not even knowing there was a materia to remove the timer.

oh you bring me back to my old teen memories. i remember i have been defeated him without Underwater Materia using w summon + kinghts of the round with mime materia to summon 2x Knights of the rounds, around almost 5 times ( it took me 18 minutes to beat this monster, i had a very lucky day ) if i remember well, they have around 1 milion of HP

That's still useless FA still requires The MP costs to USE it when you die and BOTH Emerald/Ruby weapon will leave you with 0 MP left AFTER KoTR first hits BOTH of them on your FIRST turn.

If you have that ability, that will mean you can beat Emerald Weapon before the timer runs out. If you have that strategy, that timer won't be an issue. You can let that timer show up knowing that Emerald Weapon will be defeated way before the timer reaches 0.

Nice one. I have a video posted of my fight with him using only 8 materia each on Cloud Yuffie and Vincent to counter the Aire Tam Storms 1111 damage per equipped materia condition. Love how there are different strategies to dismantle the emerald weapon.

I used to have Yufie limit break 3-2 as my ultimate weapon. Then mimic them all to have Yufie limit break again. Yufie limit break is 16 hits combo while Omnislash only 15 hits combo. Or use Knight of the Round and mimic them all. Either way is easy kill

HP plus, Luck plus, 6 or 7 mastered pink countervattack materias, combine with using a few hero drinks at the start of the fight, and you can put your controller down and kill him with one only one party member. You can use your limit breaks if you want, but its not neccessary.

Years ago I figured out how to achieve 7777 HP using materia combinations for various characters at a given level. Went to fight Emerald Weapon. With 7777 HP the character strikes something like 63 consecutive times dealing 7777 damage, to begin the battle. Still couldn’t beat it.

The trick is to have 2 materias on 2 characters. Attack with cloud and heal with the others. When emerald does his attack that multiplies with numbers of worn materia you get 7777 remaining HP and all lucky seven on 2 characters, they will attack until he is dead.

This was 25 years ago) and the the other two party members had the same setup but with mime. Just in case I got one-shotted I had final attack + Phoenix available.

Try putting on hypers on all 4 so your limit gauge goes up faster. When Emerald's eyes light up and attacks, all 3 limits will be maxed out. Im sure if you use all 3, all or most of the eyes will be destroyed. My team is usually Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie.

my own strategy to deal with this thing was grind and produce several Counter and Mime Materia's, putt them all on Cloud, and then have Cloud use Omnislash, thus if he gets hit, Emerald Weapon gets alot of Omnislash's, while also using buffer items to increase his attack power.

No even at lv 65 WITH the UItimate weapon equipped I first had all 13 Knights do 5000 to 6000 each BUT HAD Omnislash not even TOP 1500 to 2000 PER HIT TO Emerald weapon AT all and UNDER 500 PER Omnislash hits to Ruby weapon so at lv 65 even WITH 4x Hero's I would still have all 13 Knights do 9999 each while STILL ONLY having Omnislash not even TOP 3000 per hit and Limit breaks can't even TRIGGER HP absorb in the first place.

@@veghesther3204 I don't know what you're doing so differently that the only thing that can do any meaningful damage is knights. But spamming Demi3 is also a great option. It will always hit for 9999 until he's really low, then just use a couple high damage spells and Emerald is dead

Pair magic counter mastered materia to bahamut zero mastered materia. Pair final attack mastered materia to phoenix mastered materia. Have W-Item materia. Have lots of magic plus mastered materias. W-Summon and Master Summon Materia. Leave some luck. I think it works to Emerald Weapon as well. I used these to defeat Ruby Weapon.

Even with 9999 HP 999 MP KoTR HP absorb and Mime as soon as all 13 KNIGHTS kill Carry armor instantly I fought it immediately so I only had 1 MIME user against Emerald weapon AND Ruby weapon FORCES you to SOLO it with it. Final attack REQUIRES MP so its worthless as soon as a I STARTED the battle with the 13 Knights I had BOTH Emerald and Ruby weapon drain your 999 MP to zero ON ITS FIRST turn and against Emerald weapon DISC 2 at lv 60 I ONLY had KoTR at ONE use.

I beat Emerald ONCE. Never beat Ruby. Could kill Safer Sephiroth with like two rounds of x4 Attack whatever its called. Once I got the Gold Chocolate everything in that game became a lot easier. Spent a billion hours mastering as much as I could. I probably could have beat Ruby but I only fought it twice and lost before proceeding to slaughter Jenova and Sephiroth. Still have it on my Psp maybe i will try to fight Ruby again. Emerald was Hard but Fun!!

I remember using Emerald adn Ruby Weapon as a Gold Mine, or Gil Mine in this case haha. I use to face them with characters carrying packs of blank All Materias and have them set with Hero Drinks and did the whole Lucky 7 trick and BOOM! Instant countless Master All Materia's for the selling.

Y'all are overthinking this way too much. Here's a super easy way that you don't have to grind a lot for. Have mime on everybody, have one main caster with W-summon + KOTR (mastered) with underwater materia and make sure their magic is 255 (you don't even have to make sure the other characters magic is 255) And have that caster wear running shoes, atb settings on wait, make sure you use 4 maximum materia on each character (to avoid being wiped by Materia Storm) and of course equip Zeidrich (on all three) and tough rings (on the other two) (W-item steal glitch required during the shinra raid for 3 Zeidrich) EZPZ dub 😊 I just beat emerald weapon with that on the first try then i went to Ruby weapon and basically did the same thing except the 2 dazers that i had to use were enough to rail jam him with KOTR lol

Counter + (Double Cut, slash all, E skill) cannot be combine bro The best combine Counter is Mime. Easy way to beat Emerald weapon and effective at low level - Mininum level Party 50 - Equip 2 or 3 Counter Attack materia per character ( you can get from chocobo racing or around world) - get E.skill White Wind, Big Guard equip for support character - Equip W.Item (from battel square) and stock Hero Drink 12 pcs In battle - cast Slow effect to boss via item or magic (spider web). It will permanent slow - use 4 Hero drink per character - support focus cast Big Guard or White Wind

No I had KoTR even if I it does 9999 x13 hits each still TAKE 30 MINUTES to KILL Emerald weapon so I still HAD to remove the timer even on the PS4 remaster where your HP can stay as INFINITE if you don't TAKE 9999 damage in 1 hit you'll still DIE if the TIMER hits zero and under 3x speed IT STILL took me 25 to 30 minutes to KoTR it to death and at LEAST 2 HOURS to Omnislash IT to death.
