I think all of it comes from a Castlevania game somewhere, covered with the SNES Nintendo/SMW chiptune of super Mario all-stars. However, after hearing the dungeon/treasury bgm from Castlevania 4 sound verbatim like it was ported...I am of the opinion the CV4 chiptune used by Konami borrowed heavily from the SNES Nintendo chiptune, maybe with a few small variations. Like the way Nintendo did on its various games i.e. Super Metroid, F-Zero, StarFox, etc. plus you gotta think about the year the games were released. So there wasn't really any significant previous content to build upon except just raw audio sampling and then refining it for 16 bit format.

Because there is some similarity between the songs Robo's Theme (from Chrono Trigger) and Never Gonna Give You Up, by Rick Astley, which makes many people make mashups of them. The song that plays is Robo's Theme and its composer (Yasunori Mitsuda) made it clear that he had not been inspired by Ricky Astley to compose this song.
