LRSU footage from the September 2016 22 LR Marksmen Challenge. The famour KYL aka "Know Your Limits" stage was an interesting one this month with the rifle resting atop a bench and the shooter standing with no rear support and the target at 30 yards.
The KYL rack has 8 targets...sizes: 2.00" , 1.75", 1.5", 1.25", 1.00", 0.75", 0.5" and 0.25"
Targets are scored as follows: 5-5-5-5-5-10-15-25 = 75 points possible.
Shooters have 8 shots and 60 to shoot as many of the targets as they like. You can stop and bank your points whenever you like but if you don't "know you limits" and shoot and miss you get a ZERO for the stage!!!

In regard to the popular Sightron SIII 10-50x60, which reticles are most used, or most effective? Illuminated or not? Thanks!

They don't have an abundance of reticle options. Most guys have either the MOA-2 or Mil Hash. Just depends on whether you prefer Mils or MOA. On my 22 I shoot MOA because it's a more precise incremental adjustment. They have a new Christmas tree style but few folks have it. Regarding illumination most of our guys do not have it because it's just not needed or used. My S3 is illuminated but my SV that I compete with is not. I have a brand new SV 10-50 for sale currently. It's $2199 on SWFA but I'm only asking $1750 if you're interested. It's MOA and Illuminated.

Always awesome to see these 22lr matches! What power do you run your 10-50x at when shooting at 25yards? Keep up the good work mate! Cheers, ASC.

It stays at 24 x which is where it indexes most of the match. But I use the 40-50 x alot when shooting very small targets or shooting at 100 yards.

Bryce, I know you have answered this 1000 times, but what would you recommend currently for my little guys first 22lr rifle? I've been on a 17hmr kick and sadly haven't kept up with the current 22 rifle offering. Bang for the buck the CZ 455 varmint looks pretty tempting..

The CZ's are great. Depends on how big he is. As you saw in the video William is 13 and he's shooting a CZ455 scout which has a smaller stock and length of pull for a youth. You could also get a CZ 455 Tacticool and cut it down if needed. You'll want to get a DIP 25 MOA extended rail, a Yo Dave Trigger kit for it and a Southwest Precision Kydex Adjustable Cheekpiece. Optics wise if you're keeping the cost down I'd get him an SWFA 3-15 or if you need to save $ the SWFA fixed power. If you want what the pros use get a Sightron S3 or S5 10-50.
