Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the Mirage2000 fighting against Mandalorian Creed in the SU33 Flanker in a BVR (Beyond Visual Range) fight with FOX-1 Missiles, hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

The Mirage-2000s were considered the first effective BVR fighters by IAF due to issues with the MiG-23 radars and missiles. It remained the premier multiple fighter until MiG-29 took over the dogfighting and Su-30 MKI the air superiority , it's decendant the Rafale is now IAF's most prized asset

Using the prediction mode for the Mirage's guns could help, it basically tells you when to shoot to hit your target (the square on the target becomes a double square if I remember correctly), but you have to specify the wingspan of the target to be accurate which can be difficult when you don't know what your target is... But in this scenario, you have the time to do it since you know exactly what you're facing.

No need to specify wing span when you've got a radar lock. The radar knows how far away the target is.

Nice flying Longshot! The Mirage 2000 was the first full module in DCS I really mastered - I have not tried it in a long time now (FA-18C, F-16C and the F-14 is to blame), but I think I will need to get back into it now during Easter...love your videos Sir! Stay safe! o7

You are right about Fox-1 training. It's integral to maximize Fox-3 deployment. If you can't fight effectively with a semi-active radar missile, you have no business shooting an AIM-120 or it's Russian/CCP/E.U. counterparts.

Loved this fight, one thing I wish DCS did however was give us a modernized Mirage technologically on par with the F-16/F-18 we have in game. It would have a much more fearsome reputation if so, and it never sat right with me when people compare 2000s era tech in the F-teens to the 1980s era mirage. (Also wish they had a cold war variant of the F-16 for similar reasons.) Would make PVP much more interesting.

14:05 For an easier shot, if the target isn't locked, try to align the enemy's craft in between the two perpendicular lines If you shoot when the guy crosses, you usually shoot him Other than that, it's pretty stiff, can be challenging at first, but it is very reliable Though, it's not as advanced as a FA18 or F16 aim, as you said, I find it way more rewarding 😁

Your Fox 2 especially are being fired from waaay out of parameters. Needed to get closer. The Fox 1 is much better up high as well than the R27 and again were fired too soon

As far as I know the Mirage 2000 has only 2 modes in order to drop chaff/flare: panic and programmed (you have to choose a pre-set program). But in this video it looks like you can drop chaff or flares in a different mode, such as separately: for example: a bunch of chaff or, later, a bunch of flare. How can you do that? In other word, how do you drop countermeasures? I hope you get what I mean. Thx

Before I saw you and GS in DCS I thought this is how dogfighting was done. Just planes 30k+ ft up flying at Mach Jesus, head on with each other, hucking missiles and dodging right before impacts until finally you merge and then you're in a furball. Little did I know that in reality you spent 70% of most fights looking anywhere except towards your opponent because you're constantly defending.

I am not a great ACM guy at all but there has Probably been a dozen times when a flanker pulled a cobra on me and got gunned. Some in the mirage, some in the hornet and one in an F-14. I really don’t understand why they do it since you present a beautifully big non-moving target just hovering in front of me. Even when I’m going to overshoot, I usually manage to get the nose up and spray him. I guess it works sometimes if they do it. Seems more gimmicky to me but I don’t fly the flanker.

it is a desperation move mostly, if the enemy pilot don't expect it or just get cocky, they will overshoot. Other than that, it's main aplication are air shows.

@@Audifaram It can definitely work in real combat, but timing is everything. It certainly isn't a "I win" move. Risk/reward. Still it's a nice option to have and practice, and every once in a while those few seconds in a fight where it can work do come, and it's glorious when it does.

Mirage 2000 in DCS are considered Easy mode fighters. Extremely easy to control at low speeds, the easiest fighter to control at low speeds actually, you out maneuver everyone at slow speeds

​@@diegoc.8518 Very simple: air to air maneuvers cause a lot of stress on the plane structure. This are used/old planes, those are better for the strike role, cause you dont need a lot of stress like air to air. The air to ground training its more basic, faster and cheaper. Pilots dogfight training its very low on this days. Its very unlikely a real dogfight in this war... flat terrain, BVR missiles , etc. ANd a Su 33 losing against a M 2000 i just stupid, another probe that DCS its just a complex PC game... Rafale C are much better suited against the Su -27 family
