Great!! That was the best plan I have seen re getting a plan together for your artwork. It was coherent and concise and seems really helpful!! Sometimes it's very hard to know where to start as a newbie and u can get mess up due to bad planning. I've written this down in my sketchpad and am going to implement in my painting. Thank you for your videos and the PDF worksheets for this subject. So helpful to have a structure for i) making a plan to draw and ink a new subject, ii) creating relevant practice material for myself, and iii) problem solving. I've applied your techniques to birds I've been sketching and inking and am having good results. I sometimes stop in my days now to think about and visualize how I'll use lines to ink a drawing I've made.

Hi there, I don't often draw insects, however the concepts for hatching technique would be the similar, following the art fundamentals as a guideline.

@@longstrideillustration Thank you for your quick response. In the few I have seen, very few out there, some use straight lines, curved lines, and stippling methods; I keep trying all the methods & nothing seems satisfying to my eyes. It seems YT & other artists seem to avoid doing them.
