Don't be afraid to add 20 minutes of solid inking footage. I've Loved watching the process of your previous videos. Scales, feathers, clouds and basically every texture and technique. Would love 38 mins rather than 8 mins!

I think I will! I'm always worried viewers will find the process boring, so I'm happy to hear your suggestion. My next planned video is a botanical tutorial (it was a request), so I'll make that one a bit longer 😀

I've been drawing for about a year and a half and I'm a late beginner in my mid thirties. One of my biggest issues is worrying if I'm practicing correctly and getting the most from my time with it. Especially since I want to get into ink. Thank you for sharing how you break down your studying process and showing us what you do!
@longstrideillustration Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing that concern, it is often one of mine as well. I'm also a late beginner (in my fifties) so I can relate. One thing I find helpful is to seek feedback from a mentor or instructor whenever possible. I talk about that and few more tips on how to set up a learning plan for your art goals in this article: longstrideillustration.com/five-steps-to-becoming-a-better-self-taught-artist/

Belle démonstration pour imiter un artiste ! J’apprécie comment tu partage ton procédé, ton ‘how to get there..’. I am not a fan of mangas even though it is a very popular art. But trying to get the understanding of an artist’s process brings a lot to knowledge.

Can you please do one of these master studies for masashi kishimoto or tite kubo, or both? They’re 2 of my all time favorite artists.
@longstrideillustration7 ай бұрын
Probably will feature them as both are very popular. Lately I've been binging on Tatsuki Fujimoto's works, so my list of mangakas is very long.

@@longstrideillustration thank you so much! I can’t wait! I want to try and do a video similar but I feel like I’m not skilled enough at understanding certain things like light and shadow to effectively analyze their works, but I’ll try my best!

You did great. Maybe you could add Boichi to your master study to-do list. More specifically the style he displayed in Sun-Ken Rock, not so much the one he used for Dr. Stone.

Great video! You are an extremely talented artist. The velem paper you were using, it can handle ink copying or was that a pencil? What type of paper do you use for your inking and washes? I find certain papers buckle way too much.
@longstrideillustration6 ай бұрын
In this video I'm using a Moleskine art sketchbook that is great for most wet and dry mediums. The velum tracing paper can handle brush pens and a little bit of wet ink, but it's made for dry mediums (so it will buckle with a wash). For more info on the materials I use in my studio, visit the FAQ page on my website: longstrideillustration.com/faq/
