Longtail Mud Motor Vanguard 20hp Turbo Build

Part 1 of turbing a vanguard 20hp longtail mud motor. A lot of trial and error but we got it done. We used a polaris sportman 500 carb and a turbo off a Volkswagen. SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and COMMENT for more videos.

Oil drain needs to be on the bottom of the turbo, not the top. That is going to cause the oil seals to keep leaking and keep smoking when running.

Put the oil drain on the bottom side and the feed on the top

Redid it with a smaller turbo and proper routing. Worked decent but through a rod idling back to boat ramp

Excellent Fab work, gap filling expertise is unmatched, non-squaring and unparalleled, .... from a technical perspeculationary aspect they used proper Hi Temp RTV and the correct guage wire per NEC UL rated for the throttle without fooling with any stinking lanyard

Good luck getting a 20HP engine to run a turbo. Maybe a GT06, which is about the smallest turbo you can get, and still a bit too big for a 20HP engine.

A few months after this video, a 2nd version was made but with a smaller turbo and proper routing. However, that motor ended quickly as it threw a rod on its first test pass. We were hoping to work out the bugs before making a part two video but that didn't work out.
