Longterm ownership experience of a C55 AMG - Discussing reliability and issues, nightdrive POV, etc

Great review! I picked up a C55 two days ago and now I’m watching reviews on KZbin to see what people think of these cars 😆. I had the opportunity to push the car a bit yesterday and I was impressed with how strong the naturally aspirated engine is. So far, everyone that has seen the car thinks it’s a C200 or something like that and when I tell them it’s a 5.4L V8, they look shocked and can’t believe such a small sedan has a big V8. Regarding the top speed, I increased the limiter in mine from 155 to 175mph as it has that option if you have the STAR computer. I don’t know if it’s possible to hit 175mph though

Congrats! You planning any mods on it? Highly recommend resonator delete + more if you want louder. But res delete will make it pop and bang

@ Thank you! I want to get the wheels refurbished in the same finish as your brother’s C55 as they’ve been refurbished at some point in silver colour but the volute doesn’t pop as much. Paint the brakes and add some spacers and possibly lower it a bit. It would be nice if I can get some more sound from the exhaust as it is a bit too quiet for a V8. Thanks for the advise, I might just do that with the exhaust 😊

@@Sam_AMG That is a great list! Spacers and drop with the wheels being shinier will make a HUGE difference in person. Go for the H&R 10mm spacers, should be able to find them on ebay. Front and rear are different

maybe on dyno mode the traction control is completely disabled?

Yeah but that's a pain in the ass to toggle every time. Plus it disables ABS which isn't great lol. Would be a lot nicer if it had a full traction off mode like the w204 c63 with just a press of a button

@@whotfismisha oh from factory they came with ntg 2. The ntg 2.5 came on late 2000s G class and slk. I think 09 - 11.. ntg 2.5 has bluetooth audio streaming and better nav so i think it's a cool factory upgrade.

@@martinkou3359 ah gotcha. Yeah this one must be the ntg 2 then. No bluetooth on it. Just using an FM transmitter lol
