Wound up buying this phone for Boost Mobile through Walmart for $129! Another great feature not mentioned here is that you can pull out the stylus while the phone is locked and take a note on the lock screen without unlocking the phone! Really handy!

I started my business with my stylo 4 until i could upgrade to a Note. I use it as a business phone which the LED notification light is a benefit, and also as a secondary editing tablet. honestly dont even feel the need to upgrade to a $1000 device because the stylo does everything i need it to do perfectly fine. Im a photo and video editor so when im on the go and i dont have my laptop, i can take my sd card out my camera and throw it into my stylo and use mobile photoshop or powerdirector. The big screen and stylus comes in handy for artists and creators on the go. I absolutely love my Stylo no hate on my end ever towards this lineup of budget phones.

It has a very good all-day battery the speakers aren’t the best but it’s good for the money it costs around 250$ I also really enjoy the stylus.

Nice video. I got this phone (Nov 2019) for net $170, thanks to price match by my carrier. My old Moto Z was fine except that the battery died and I didn't want to experiment with a heat gun and risk spending over $100 if I trashed the screen. This phone for $170 is worth the upgrade- it's faster, bigger, LCD screen isn't quite as nice as the Moto AMOLED but it's good enough, especially in dark mode. **MANUFACTURERS: I would buy your flagship phones if you went back to replaceable batteries- I'm never going to drop a grand on a phone with a 3 year lifespan! If I ever do need to replace the battery on this phone, it's done from the back cover, so maybe I'll do that for this phone someday.

My sister has one and she loves it. I've never been one to use the speakerphone. As an over-the-driver I was required to buy and use a headset due to the fine of up to $2750 plus court costs for having a cellphone up to the head while driving a commercial vehicle. This went into effect 2012. I got the Stylo 4+ when I changed carriers a couple years ago and really liked using it. I see you didn't show what most reviewers also don't show: Dark Mode and home screen looping. I've used four LG smartphones through the years and each one has it. I've used HTC, Honor, Umidigi and they don't have it. My Motorola didn't have a complete Dark Mode when I got but it does now since being updated to Android 10. Overall I liked the video.

Phone gets a lot of hate no idea why. For basic usage: phone calls, texting, watching videos, listening to music it's great. I can watch full HD 1080p movies. I will admit two things which could have made this phone a lot better. 4 gigs of RAM and a Snapdragon 625. Buy a $50 Bluetooth speaker way better than phone speakers. you just don't like the phone if you don't like it that's fine and dandy but don't be hating on it. The main purpose of the phone and a focus is the stylus. If you want a phone takes great pictures go buy an S7 or s8.

It's good to see the SD450 getting to be more common. It is basically the popular SD625 rebranded and slightly down clocked. It's a good step forward for the lower market segments with eight cores at 14nm. I have a phone with an SD425 and the battery life on it is quite good and the performance is good enough for my needs. These chips won't suit everyone, but the SD450 should be surprisingly capable.

Lol, I've had my Stylo 5 for nearly a year, since January 2nd, 2020 to replace a lost phone, and I just found out that stylus is there. I've wished many times I had a stylus handy but there never seemed to be one close by when I needed it and all this time it was right there on the phone! I should watch these videos more often, huh?

Glad about stylus replaceable, if necessary. Mine doesn't always respond (it's a new phone), especially frustrating when drawing..at times, I draw the same line 3-4 swipes, before stylus decides to make any mark. Anyone? know why? What might I do? to encourage the stylus to be reliably consistent? TY :)

I figured out how to write a memo, and how to scroll around the screen. What else can it do?

@@rayrous8229 it can write but the options and tools are at the top of the screen. You can also use it to tap and to draw and there's a thing on the keyboard screen where you can draw for a maximum of 8 seconds and send it to someone and as you write it basically records the motion of the pen and does it in the exact order you did, if that makes sense... Another thing... When your phone is locked and the screen is black you can pull out the stylus and be able to write there. It'll be a black screen and everytime you pull put the stylus with the screen locked the image you drew will appear. Unless you erase it. You can also save it to QuickMemo.

Can't comprehend after buying 2 LG Stylo 5 LM-Q 720MS cases, glass protection screens, micro SD cards to loading up apps only to find out that no matter what you do you cannot migrate apps from internal to external only files. Micro SD cards I've tried authentic micro SD 200 GB down to 64 GB are all recognized butt not adoptable as in the Stylo 4.

Devonian Wrighton hi have you tried sd cards with A1 or A2 capabilities because these types of sd cards will allow you to have faster app speeds when transferring apps to sd cards as well as other file transferring! They work so much better with phones and cameras and other electronic storage needs!

The only answers I am finding on the web is that this phone can't run a lot of apps from the sd card so will not allow them to be moved.

I recently bought the LG STYLO 5 international model with the Metro By T Mobile carrier, but it can be used with any GSM carrier. My question is about my battery, the status says +13 hrs and 8 mins but it lasts me all day at 100 percent unless I start using it. Is this normal for my phone?

Hi Lon, this helps m w the phone... I know so little! For example, I do zero gaming..yet, game launcher app is put in a box for "essentials" on my LG style 5 screen, & that app uses a lot of data. I've forced stop, cleared the cache, & tried to uninstall by sliding the app off screen. App hopped right back into its on screen box. I'm an almost total beginner, lol for years, fumbling w phones. What videos or whatever else would you recommend that I can do, to know how to do best by my phone & me? TY Lon.

Help I bought a Boost stylo 5 (with boost packaging) from walmart I noticed there was a Sprint sim card in it so I took it out and put my boost sim card in but it says my stylo 5 is sim locked to Sprint. what can I do. How can I buy a clearly packaged Boost phone only for it to have a different carrier locked on it, is this even legal.

Boost phones have Sprint cards in them. Boost Mobile is Sprint.

I just bought this phone thru Straight Talk. . It does not offer a theme change for the keyboard. I need reading glasses to do my texting but its helpful to have a dark background against the keys and I would like the text to be bold. How do I achieve this affect so I can read the text better. It doesn't appear to have the option in settings to 'Change Theme'.

I understand where Lon is coming from, he addressed it on the weekly wrap up... chinese cheap phones don't work very nicely with US networks. But I just broke my phone and was wondering what to get on the budget while I can't fix it. I'm in between Pocophone F1 and Mi A3. Pocophone is still a whole lot of horsepower for a very cheap price, but will require a whole lot of work because I want a mostly stock Android experience... last time I tried rooting a phone it didn't go well, but I'm willing to try it again. The Mi Mix A3 on the other hand already comes with Android One, so it gets waaay easier. I just don't like the 720p screen much, Snapdragon 635 would hardly be an upgrade to my currently diseased phone, and I actually did not want to go again with an AMOLED screen. AMOLED screens are great, don't get me wrong, but it's already the second time a small crack on it (my current phone has AMOLED) ended up screwing and blackening out the entire screen rendering it completely useless. I'm quite frankly traumatized by this. You end up with just a few hours of being able to use the phone until all pixels turn black.

Absolutely! Iv owned an older Stylo, and am now using the Note 9. There is no comparison between a Note and a Stylo, the Stylo is a cheap imitation that just dosnt live up. My number one use for the S Pen is the screen off memo, not saying I couldnt go back to a different phone, but at the same time it is a feature I use constantly. There are other S Pen features this phone just dosnt have and cant ever have because of the differences in stylus technologies. The Note 9 is quite a bit cheaper than when it was new, and if your willing to pick up a refurbished unit you can get one for about twice the price of the Stylo. The Note 8 is great, but there are a few reasons I would go with a Note 9 over an 8, the bigger battery and Android 10 will eventually come to it. The Note 8 is probably done getting updates outside of security updates. That being said LG rarely updates anything so no real loss there.

Just curious where are you finding a Note 8 for that price, when I suggested the Note 9 over the 8 the cheapest I seen the 8 was for about $300? A refurbished Note 9 is going for about $400 from the same place, and $100 difference in price the Note 9 wins every time. $200 difference in price makes this a totally different story, for $200ish I would go with the Note 8 if I was getting a refurbished phone.

Just got it in the mail today from ordering on eBay for $104.75 for Cricket Wireless. I really love the phone so far. It has much more bells and whistles than my last Android I was just using and is comparable to my Galaxy S8+ I had awhile back for that reason and is so much cheaper. The Stylo 5 gets plenty of hate and most of it is from people that are just comparing specs and not actually owning or using the phone for daily purposes. I'm super thankful I scored this phone for my carrier Cricket Wireless for the $113.75 after tax cause Cricket wanted $229.99 in store for it and online $149.99 w/ free next day shipping. So glad I didn't spend a few hundred on a refurbished Galaxy S8 again.

Your hands must be really greasy. I have a stylo 5 with no case or protector and it's barely dirty. The speaker works. Who uses more than one sim card?! The camera is great. Do your research before, they have replacement stylus. A lot of the things he's talking about are just default and you can change them, you can customize pretty much anything. I would always choose LG before iPhone. Considering you were gifted this you're extremely picky.

From what I have read, the 4 and the 5 are more or less the same phone, a few cosmetic differences, but the same phone. I could be wrong, not a big Stylo fan and dont keep up too much on them, but if true it dosnt make a lot of sense to get the 5 if you already have the 4.

For the money, am thinking this is one of the worst deals out there ....unless you get it for free, much better unlocked Chinese phones out there, for about the same price or cheaper .....which have all the U.S. bands....and much better spec's.....an example of this is the umidigi F2...got that phone for about $180 and its a much better buy compared to this LG phone ....
