Still a wonderful anthem. A very close second place to a very liked anthem by John Rutter. And closely matching with some sadness for me! I lost my sister in law who passed away three weeks ago. This one I quite like. And reminding me that family is everything. The other one is ' Look to the day!'

It's just occurred to me. That I have a true story of an encounter with a couple of members of the Vicars Choral portion of the Wells Cathedral Choir back on October 25th of 2020 and two others of the choir at the White Hart Inn Hotel, in Wells in Somerset in England. It's a rather amusing tale and begins at 4 pm on the mentioned date. I had booked up a long weekend to replace a coaching holiday that year, due to the first Covid 19 lockdown from the 15th March 2020. I spent the Friday to the Monday of that particular weekend at Wells. I had just pulled away from the Festal Evensong service and had returned to the Hotel when I encountered the two gentlemen of the choir - the Senior Bass and the Countertenor and one of the latter's two sons. To which I had a splendid conversation with them, which lasted two hours from 4pm of the afternoon, to just about 6 pm. Halfway through this, we were joined by the older boy of the Countertenor. But also unfortunately the two gentlemen felt the requirements of use of the facilities. And promptly started to sing! The older of the two boys of the Countertenor grumbled..... " Oh NO! NOT AGAIN!!!!!" He was - as you might guess, none too happy about that! The Members of the Vicars Choral require no excuse to start singing there. The grumble didn't stop the two gentlemen of the choir. Both carried on.. Much to the consternation of the older boy of the Countertenor.. Who, then at the top of his voice, complained about this and said. " WILL YOU TWO .... SHUT UP!!!" At this point of proceedings. I was highly amused by the situation and I am afraid that I made things a little bit worse for the young fellow. I knew something called " Merbeck " to which I sung this..... " 🎼🎶 Oh deareee me, o lad you've had it! 🎶 You won't stop them, not one little bit! 🎶 You'll think that is quite the catastrophe! 🎶 You won't stop them, that's it, for thee!🎶🎶" Anyway, it - I'm afraid to say, didn't make that young gentleman's day. Not on the 25th of October of that year! I did consider it, the best two hours of my life.. And there is a second story involving the Wells Cathedral Choir in 2021 - which I would love to tell you. I will say, that it's probably helped to save my life from being shortened by up to 50%. I'll tell you about that story, on another occasion.. The story that you have read! Is a true story involving myself! And yes! It did happen!
@thesmithensemble4053 Жыл бұрын
That is such a fun story! Thank you for sharing! 😂🎶 look forward to the next one!

Well - thank you for that.. I shall have to follow up with that other story involving the Wells Cathedral Choir again.. I will say that it's quite a serious story as well! And when I said that the situation of this.. Probably saved my life.. Then that's no exaggeration but a true fact.. Stand by for the 30th of this month.. I will put it here then!

Look at the world, everything all around us, Look at the world and marvel every day. Look at the world: so many joys and wonders, So many miracles along our way. Chorus: Praise to thee, O Lord for all creation. Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share, and every blessing, All things come of thee. Look at the earth bringing forth fruit and flower. Look at the sky, the sunshine and the rain. Look at the hills; look at the trees and mountains, Valley and flowing river, field and plain. Chorus Think of the spring, think of the warmth of summer, Bringing the harvest before the winter's cold. Everything grows, everything has a season, Till it is gathered to the Father's fold: Chorus Every good gift, all that we need and cherish, Comes from the Lord, in token of his love. We are his hands, stewards of all his bounty. His is the earth and his the heavens above. Chorus

Yes! Utah is a beautiful place. And the Osmonds are from this area. I was just driving close by Osmond Lane today where many of them used to live.
