Dawn! How exciting - I have a similar brooch that I found - the setting on mine is identical - same clasp, same swivel bale. But where you have 7 diamonds in total, I have only the 1 in the center- but mine is larger in proportion. I always wondered if it was a case that people reset family engagement rings (mine clearly looks a stone that would be more suited to a ring than in the middle of this pin/pendant). Way to go!

One time at a junkie flea market in San Francisco by City College, he found an Edwardian amethyst thistle brooch pinned to a hat that was being sold by a hat dealer, of all things. He paid around $5 for the hat and sold the brooch for a couple of thousand dollars.😮

I would have taken that black jet necklace with the beautiful clasp in a heartbeat at that super low price. I inherited one from my great grandmother that needed restringing. The vintage jeweler I took it to suggested the necklace was worth $$$ if it had [mine did] its original clasp, was long and hand knotted. Quality jet necklaces can sell for hundreds, even thousands of dollars.I would have thought those puffy heavy silver earrings were Taxco Mexican silver... they sure looked like some I have. I suppose the style may be copied.

I'm so sad to report that a lot of Goodwill's in California are no longer selling jewelry in store or most high luxury brands clothing or accessories every thing is online now😢 expect once in a while some good luxury brands slip from good eyes, last night I found a wonderful vintage St. John blazer for only 9.99 and a Givenchy coat for 15 dolls but no more good jewelry finds in store they finally caught up with the game😢

Have you ever found one of the antique African trade bead necklaces? The ones they made from old antique German Handmade marbles? They are real deal marbles with holes drilled out in the middle, some of them are worth thousands! I like to buy the loose beads when I find them for a decent price.

Normally I agree.. but, all the prongs are worn out and it's a miracle the diamonds are still there. I have all these designs floating in my head and I can use all the gold again in one of my own creations~ and I want to see it!

​@@elapaszczynski495Well, $4.000 was what she said... It is victorian, which means they are old, maybe rosecut or an early form of brilliant cut diamonds. Extra white and sparkly, means good quality stones from one of the good, historic mines from back then, all of which makes them more valuable, because those mines ran out many, many decades ago. And there are 6 nice sized diamonds, plus one larger, centerstone, PLUS a nice chunk of gold....
