I love that the bracken is one of the most terrifying monsters in the game and also has the funniest AI imaginable. Dude was like a foot from snapping that man's neck, sees you looking at it in its periphery, and just throws his hands up like "He with you bro my bad I'll get outta the way"

Actually he was lucky that he didn’t turn around in time. Assuming the AI is working how I think it should work, the Bracken ran away because another player spotted it. But if the victim turned around instead and saw the Bracken, it would’ve snapped their neck and dragged them away. They tend to stalk their victim by following them right behind their back until they turn around. When there’s a second player near by, they react differently, and I’m not entirely sure how that works.

@@Zack_Zander No there have been several cases where I've turned around to see a Bracken very close to me. If you're too close and stop moving it will make contact and snap your neck but it responds the same way to all people's gazes whether they're the current target or not.

​@@Zack_Zanderno, it responds to any player looking at it, so if you're alone and manage to spot it before it grabs you, you can make it back off. I did just that today when the bracken was like a foot away from me.

Had he looked behind him before the Bracken backed away, he would’ve died. The Bracken already backed off when he look. But if it hadn’t, that warning would have been their demise. Almost every time I saw someone on the ship said that there’s something (a Bracken) behind a player, that player usually always dies when they turn around instead of immediately start running. But in this situation, they survive because someone else was there.
