@@bluesfish55m51 Wow, I’m impressed that you noticed the posters and thank you for noticing, They are poster from several Studio Ghibli movies, and I bought them from Etsy.com www.etsy.com/se-en/listing/780572123/ghibli-studio-16-poster-set-inspired-by?ref=shop_home_active_12&sca=1 I selected the dimension Ribba that fits in the IKEA frame Ribba. Picture of my wall of Ghibli: www.minhembio.com/bilder/hq/?pic_id=516695.jpg Regarding the bench. This is a simple, yet I think an elegant solution. I went to a home depot and bought a 25mm thick countertop in oak wood and had it cut to the dimensions I wanted. Then I bought adjustable metal legs that I attached on the two countertops and then simply stacked those on top of each other. Simple, airy solution that can change over time if need be. I found it neat to have the legs for the bottom shelf to be attached a bit in and not directly at the edges of the bottom shelf to make it seem like the shelf if “floating in midair”. Metal legs: www.bauhaus.se/media/catalog/product/cache/9d0f0c8eb514963e1fda0eb95b4bf3ab/0/1/0102256V.jpg Close-up of my media bench: www.minhembio.com/bilder/hq/?pic_id=516596.jpg Some more pictures of my Living room: www.minhembio.com/arcspin Here’s a bonus question: In my sofa I have a pillowcase (actually two pillow cases) with a carpet pattern from an iconic horror movie, which movie?

@@PeterEidegren Answer: The Shining! Sorry to take over your other reply (and also apologies to Bluesfish55 M), but when I heard Studio Ghibli my ears perked up! I am a big fan of Studio Ghibli and have all of the films, except for Tales of Earthsea. I will add it, eventually. One of my favorites is actually 'Whisper of the Heart'. Thanks for posting your "wall of Ghibli"! I hope you don't mind, I downloaded a copy to add to the art collection on my phone. : ) If you have not read the original manga for Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, I highly, highly recommend it! I have the entire eight volume set in large format. It goes way beyond the scope of the film in story telling and character development. Interesting to note: The famous French artist Moebius did an illustration of Nausicaä: i.pinimg.com/originals/70/38/57/7038570226fae842a0d763edab2cc83c.jpg Also, some years ago a group of people built a real, working version of Nausicaä's Möwe glider! Here is a video of a test flight: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnqbdmmLrdqtpNU There are also other videos of it on YT. Have you seen the Studio Ghibli Museum in Japan? They have a lifesize statue of one of the robots from 'Castle in the Sky': savvytokyo.scdn3.secure.raxcdn.com/app/uploads/2019/07/Robot-2.jpg Again, I must apologize for my rudeness, but it is great to find another Studio Ghibli fan! : D

Nice systems But are they optimized: a) for speaker placement relative to walls and corners and b) for microphony between components and the shelves they are on. Probably in most cases, the systems are on dirty AC as well. Just a wild assed guess. Another thing that makes me wonder all the time is why components need to be in between speakers. Yes, the lead from a power amp to a speaker better be short. But still. No, not critique. Just wondering what help these people had, to get their systems where they are today. And what drove them.

The lack of treatment in most of these rooms really defeats the systems in them. The positioning of speakers in most is merely aesthetic. I find it interesting that the same people invest in amp stands, isolated shelves etc. then place a speaker or sub in a corner or backed against a wall and point them at a wall (or 20 other reflective sufaces) a few feet away. What I'm saying is, audiophiliacs in general seem more driven by the desire to own products than the actual sonics they achieve because their systems would sound 100 times better if they put 5 mins thought into the room instead of buying more shiny things. You could custom make a pile of tasteful rock wool, softwood framed isolation panels with a fabric of your choice to match your decor for a 10th of what some of these people spent on an RCA cable but they can hear the difference in the cable but not the room right? Thats my 2 pence from a music producer and budding audiophile and don't get me wrong, I love shiny things too.

It behooves why the so called great speaker systems are nothing more than eye candy for those who like that sort of thing. Great speakers perform audibly not necessarily visually. What some people spend money on is a joke beyond belief. Bottom line is all speakers work on the same principles and are all subject to the same inherent problems of I.M. and phase distortions. No exceptions.

Finally, someone (David from Charleston WV) who owns at least one piece of gear I thought to be one of the best preamps of all time. I owned the Audible Illusions M3A, and with PSB Stratus Gold i speakers, and a vintage McIntosh MC2205. What a setup. Still loving your M3A David? You can upgrade to the newest model fairly inexpensively, but I have no idea how the newer Audible gear sounds.

Very inspiring! I would seriously consider those GR Research kit speakers shown in one of the first arrangements if I didn't aleady have my Maggies. Greetings to all fellow audiophiles ☆

Yikes! If I came downstairs every morning to seeing those B&W Nautilus speakers, daily psychotherapy would be on my calendar. Maybe the occasional electroshock. After I tried to stop laughing. Andy Warhol would have embraced them. Definitely the Buck Rogers school of design.

Audio equipment is the only narcotic I'll ever need. Steve, I'll give you credit for showing the system with the Metallica tour poster and the Trooper beer. But all great pics/systems. This is a real good idea.

8:06 i recommend removing the dobro & violin hanging on the wall. Those have got to start resonating at high speaker volumes! BTW i had a guitar EXACTLY like that one.

Wow, a pair of Nautilus... I only got to hear a pair once at a trade day at a UK trade show in the early 90’s, amazing things and crazily expensive...

can't get enough of these systems. the thought process of how they are put together. also the clean and open look of some of this gear is something that i can only aspire to, love my stuff, but it is not presented as well as it could.
