Michael W. Smith got me through my sons 9.5 month nicu stay. Healing rain was on repeat. He’s 17 months old, on a ventilator still, but he will recover completely. I love his music so much. Brings me back to Jesus every time.

Woke up at 3 am because I couldn’t sleep. MWS was on KZbin and I watched an event he had done live from his living room with family and friends praying for Israel. With all the fakery in Christian music, he’s one of the real ones.

Wow - great memories. I was born & raised in Nashville in the 70s-90s. I once won front row tickets & backstage passes to see Michael W Smith and a new band that opened for him called DC Talk. That was around 1991-92. I met Michael backstage & took a picture, but DC Talk had already left. I was mad that they left before they allowed us backstage, but was really there to see MWS. DC Talk went on to be huge & then Toby Mac spun off his own records. I'll never forget that concert. It was a once in a lifetime event. Great words of wisdom.

As Christians your stories remind me of the sermon truth I heard preached recently how Jesus leaves the 99 that are following and the 1 stray is a believer so He comes after you to repent and bring u back to the fold..Not lost but true believer..overwhelming ❤️
@kobushauman33105 ай бұрын
I never understood that. Does the payable of the 99 mean Jesus does not care about the 99? Of course He does! Someone explained that it is like losing one of your two kids when out at the mall. Right at that moment "ALL” your attention is focused on finding that child - it does not mean that you don’t care for your other child. 🙌🏿✝️🧎🏽

Music! Music is my favorite! Music is universal, it brings people together, it creates momentum, and it's so powerful! Michael's worship music is amazing! I also love worship music by Elevation Worship and Tauren Wells! Tommee Profitt's music is incredible, I love his album A King Is Born! I love all different styles and genres of music. I know what you mean, when you're at a concert, the sound fills the room, it's so captivating and all you can do is be engaged in the moment! "Once you truly have an encounter with Jesus it's a game changer." Yup! Amen! There is so much wisdom in this podcast. Prayer is powerful! Prayer breaks chains! Thank You Jesus! "God loves you. He just wants to have a relationship with you." John, I think the enemy tried to discourage you from God's plan for you by making you feel shame and guilt. Or it could have been the Holy Spirit reminding you, no matter what choices you make God will alway love you, be with you, and protect you. Thank you so much John and Michael for sharing your experience of being in the darkness (drugs and alcohol). John, I'm so glad you're sober! Great testimony! Inspiring! The founding Pastors of my church we're saved through Bill Graham ministry New Years Day in 1978! Glory to God! I've been serving in my church on the sound tech worship ministry since 2017. The church I go to has been bringing a message of hope to all people for 45 years!

INCREDIBLE! I watched MWS the weekend he was at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro and it was amazing. He was my first Christian "rock" concert after I was saved(wasn't brought up in church)and that was when I realized music was a very spiritual connection for me and has carried me thru sone crummy times in life, the last 6 years losing everything that mattered to me bc of the "church" and it took me back to that 1st concert in the 80's. This is by far one your best podcasts for me! Thank you both for your genuine conversation, your vulnerability and helping others(🙋🏼♀️)see/remember that, no matter what the enemy tries to convince us of, we are very loved and highly valued by our Abba!❤🙌🙌

Great interview! I’ve been listening to Michael for 40 yrs, and you John, for just a few months, but I love how you shared a common thread…. We’ve all been through stuff. My only “criticism “ would be that John, I feel as though you struggle with making your thoughts more palatable. Dude, just say it! Life is, as Carman used to say,” black is black, white is white. Hell is hot and sin ain’t right.” Be ready to draw some fire for speaking truth, but in the end I believe you will be glad you did.

In The Chosen, which I consider a high quality production whch stays pretty close to the Biblical narative, not all the actors are believers. Peter, a major role, is played by a non-believing Israeli, the only cast member that I'm aware of from here (Israel). Some of the major character actors have come to faith as a result of their particpation.

I believe the christian plateform has to be more vocal on their beliefs. I felt michael like he was dodging most of the time. The bible says we have to be bold as lions! Lets go church. The liberals are louder than us.
@saylorbay2000 Жыл бұрын
He is a good guy but he has been dodging taking a stand out loud his whole career. And some of the things he does endorse suggest that he either leans left or, needs much more solid biblical teaching in his life. There are several Christian artists in the same boat. That needs to change.

DC/LA 2001. Smith and Chapman played. At the beginning and end of the week. A woman in their Bible study had a accident and was dying. We spent the week praying for her and found out at the end of the week she died. The faithfulness of the singers and the story shared about her death have stuck with me. Both singers were real with their pain and faith. Both still cared enough about the youth at the concert to put on an impactful show.

I read out loud a lot to adults. We play a lot of board games so we read rules and some board games are story driven so we read stories. One of my best friends who is incredibly intelligent nut fumbles when reading out loud so I don't feel that bad when I do it. I went to those special reading classes in school because I was not a strong reader and still don't enjoy reading.
