John’s rant about personal responsibility speaks to me. There’s nothing more attractive in a person than self awareness & personal responsibility. Love to see it. 👏🏼👏🏼

Sorry guys, I have to totally disagree with you on the Christmas decoration thing. Christmas starts on Christmas Day and goes for 12 more days until Epiphany on January 6th so the decorations should definitely stay up until then. Plus, in gloomy snowy MN it's so sad when all the lights come down that I feel like we'd have less depression if we just left them up. Just my 2 cents, love the pod! Happy New Year!

Yellow lights up after Christmas are a compromise that some people do. The yellow lights (and Christmas/winter lights) do help with winter's cold, dark depression, especially after the high/celebration/fun of Christmas (despite its financial, etc. flaws) and New Year's. I've heard of the 'January (and February) Blues' after Christmas and New Year's, which makes sense. The only holidays after New Year's are Valentines' Day in February and then St. Patrick's Day in March. Then more hope and warmth come with spring.

I added to the live chat during the premiere, but I remember volunteering for the Christmas shopping as a kid at Brentwood Baptist. One of the best things I remember about Christmas as a kid.

I’ve volunteered for gift distributions at my church & it’s awesome. It’s set up so nice & welcoming.. parents don’t feel like it’s just charity. Those kids are generally the most graceful. I’ve done this in Mexico too. Those kids are incredibly patient & grateful. That’s what Christmas is about. Ppl of all walks of life coming together to serve the greater good.

I gave my husband the Manscaped box for his birthday (right after Christmas) and he loved it! He had heard about it on the Joe Rohan podcast, so he thought it was the best present!

1:45:55 From Children's Hospital of Philedelphia: Fetal blood sampling is a procedure to remove a small amount of blood from the fetus during pregnancy. In the past, fetal blood sampling was used only during labor through the mother's open cervix to test blood from the fetal scalp for oxygenation. Fetal blood sampling is usually done by a specially trained perinatologist, a doctor who specializes in the care of the fetus in high-risk pregnancies. It is done as part of diagnosing, treating, and monitoring fetal problems at various times during pregnancy. A fetal blood sample may be taken to: - Diagnose genetic or chromosome abnormalities - Check for and treat severe fetal anemia or other blood problems such as Rh disease - Check fetal oxygen levels - Check for fetal infection - Give certain medications to the fetus There are several ways blood can be obtained from the fetus. After cleansing the mother's abdomen with antiseptic, A LONG, THIN NEEDLE IS INSERTED into the mother's uterus guided by ultrasound. Blood may be taken from the following sources: - Blood vessels of the umbilical cord (also called cordocentesis, or percutaneous umbilical blood sampling, or PUBS) - A fetal blood vessel, usually in the liver or heart Fetal blood transfusions are performed using a similar technique. The fetus either receives blood or has unhealthy blood exchanged for healthy blood to treat some problems. In this case, it may be necessary to give a sedative medication to keep the baby from moving. After a fetal blood sampling procedure, mothers will need to rest in the hospital and have the fetal heart rate monitored for a few hours.

I was secretly hoping they would continue to think that you could separate the baby's blood from the mom. I would love to overhear that conversation with them and their wife's OBGYN.

It still makes my brain crazy that you are so connected to Bentonville now. And FBC-Bentonville does that shopping thing with families before the school year too.

The church with the dancing guys and the other videos were two different churches. The dancing Santa’s were a church in Ft Lauderdale, FL (of course, it’s Florida), whereas the other is from Tulsa. I watched the most of the Tulsa production trying to figure out how topless dancing Santa’s were tied into the Bible story 🤦🏻♀️

Yes people still work. And most companies don’t just give the week between Christmas and New Years off. Just because everyone on social media doesn’t have a job doesn’t mean that’s reality.

I can not find the "shirtless santa" or living on a prayer videos, please share links! Also, right on with your takes, John. Looks like the church with the Santa's was just having fun, everyone needs to loosen up. If it's not for you, don't go, don't watch. Just scroll by people.

John - your take on Soho House is so off. You should really join one of those stuffy old country clubs that you seem to hold in such high esteem. At the country club, you will also be able to yell into your phone endlessly. Apparently, those really rich folk love sitting among groups of people yammering away on their phones. Do it, John. For the New Year, cancel your SH membership and head for the country club! You'll LOVE it!!!
