Hi Steve...i was just wondering what area of Malta the Lady was brought up in....my father (maltese) built a block of flats in Gzira (on the corner of stadium street) back in 1957 to rent out to British forces family's stationed in Malta (untill the Brits left in 72) good times.

It's where the Cosmopolitan Aparthotel used to be and might stretch that far as well as I have stayed in the apartments opposite for many years.

@@susanralph6587 I also stsyed in many different apartment's on that road years ago and quite sure that the place you are thinking of used to be on the corner and you could see there swimming pool from the street, Sun city apartment's that was owned by Charlie and Maria was halfway down the road with a bar under neath and opposite Euro car hire. Tourist Street used to be a great location and very convenient location for that area , the guy who owned the pub on the corner (Red Lion) opposite Police station used own the only shopping market in that round the corner back in the day and the Plum Tree bar and restaurant on the way to Luzzu was the best place for breakfast

Looking at the room it screams at me "nothing special". I've stayed in 90% of the hotels in Qawra down the years and all the rooms are pretty much identical. This hotel as you say is new. Indeed about 2 years ago it was the back of the hotel Santana waste land. It's pretty well known by the locals that it's not built right. If you look at the roof from say The Tourist Bar you can see it's bent. A builder pointed this out to me, and once you see it you can't help notice it. Am no surveyor but may cause trouble in years to come. But what got me about the room was that it was the same as the Primera Hotel, which is probably about £350/week cheaper that this one. It is modern I grant you. But at the end of the review might be good to say how much it is per week? It's quite high end for this area.

No idea on many points you raise, I was invited there, looks clean, modern 3 star hotel, impossible to say prices cuz it depends on time of year length of stay type of room full board B&B etc etc, and within months prices can go out of day, so theres a link people can check for them selves

@@EnglishmaninMalta so the story goes it's owned by the brother who owns the hotel Santana. They fell out, so he built his own hotel right on the doorstep of his brothers hotel. Maybe just local gossip though that, so don't quote me. How about checking in numerous hotels for a day/night? Can do a thorough review then Rather like many other KZbin folk, Walk with Tim springs to mind? Always interesting though. Cheers Steve. 👍👍

Agree about the chap on reception not a very happy helpfull chap who doubles up as breakfast booker inner and when you book in they want to know everything about you bar blood group very annoying

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL 🏩 🌊 😲. Did a couple of searches Steve - GOOD 🏆 reviews all around. "Cold unheated swimming pool" on roof seemed to be the only common complaint. Suppose, could be easily fixed with a Solar Pool Heating System. Also noticed and to be commended, is that Hotel Manager/Operations supplied his 'direct email address' in his replies to every reviewer on Hotel website - something very rare nowadays, even here in Oz 🇦🇺. I suppose all this is additional to your review Steve ☺. (BTW Steve, who bailed you out?) THANKS STEVE 🚶 📝 🏩 🎥 👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
