Ivor, you really nailed this one and very few have covered this as a lesson. Got to love anything by Neil Young! You're a great reference source and thanks for all the arrangements you do.

Thank you so very much for sharing an excellent arrangement and lesson! Guess this first appeared in '78 or so, but I recall the Unplugged version best. Great tune for a great big Dreadnought!

There’s no way I can seem to make powerful sound with my pinky on the b string.
@ivorsorefingers2 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that, which part of the song are you having the issue with? Can you give me a time stamp on the video? Ivor
@thebirima912 ай бұрын
At the 3:28 mark. Is it okay to hit the string two times?
@ivorsorefingers2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the time mark. As you are having an issue playing that part with your pinky I would suggest that you strum the 'E' chord once, then just pluck the open 'b' string followed by a 'hammer on' to the second fret of the 'b' string using your first finger and finally pluck the open top 'e' string. Hope that makes sense to you. Ivor

@@ivorsorefingers Yes, thank you. One more question please. At the 00:09 mark, Neil Young seems to play (MTV unplugged) only the b string 3rd fret. Is there a reason you play the 3 strings together? Sorry I am a newbie.

I can't remember which video/recording I based my lesson on. It's quite normal for guitarist's to play songs slightly differently on different performances/recordings. It's you that's playing the song so you should play it the way you prefer, it doesn't have to be exactly the same every time you play and probably never will be as we are humans not machines. Ivor
