Thanks for the review. I like Kanzawa. They make some interesting tools. I know Lee Valley has been carrying their adjustable drill bit for many years.

It is weird how LV does not tell the brands in their catalogue. Glad they have a retail outlet not too far from me.

I have a milescraftt. Even though they have dual bearings, you can visually see the chuck play by 1/16th or so. I'm considering returning it and make my own from extra 3D printer parts leftover from projects.

UJK has 14mm guides. And the sliding is often stiff because it is so extremely tight that the slider with the drill head stops on it, you cant push it down, not even pull it up, super annoying. I should probably make a review of it. (on my other channel) They also fail with the rubber base which makes it wobbly and in order to make it better you must remove that rubber which is there fixed in uneven manner. For 140£ it should be much better with less fails. But it is a heavy and solid piece of jig.

Any play in the UJK guide? I imagine it locking up would be due the carriage tracking off-kilter.

@@RoomForTools This is my other channel, I've just created it and I also just bought UJK recently so will see, I could make a review in near future. But first I had to send them an email with my complaint about the product. Will see where it will go from there because they still haven't answered. But the jig itself is very solid. It doesn't feel like it has any play in it, and that's why I think it is so tight (over-tight) Maybe some special type of lubricant would do the job.

If you compare the yoke on the UJK/ Rockler drill guides (they are identical products) they are probably 12 mm or more shorter than the Japanese guide this means there is more chance of the yoke skewing on the downward stroke

Hi, possibly drill a longer hole (100 to 150mm) and review how straight? With an alternative guide I have, as you press down to drill a hole, the angle of the guide and hole can change. Also, due to the weight of a drill, even when all you do is attach a drill, you can see the angle of the drill bit and guide slightly changes. If you could review deflection for this unit that would be great - as I am interested in purchasing it.

Good question... I might do a follow up on that as a video. I do not have any brad point bits of that length though. Standard drill points WILL wander at random, even in a rigid drill press. Nonetheless, a good question that I am curious to investigate. Perhaps one hole freehand and another clamped down.

What location are you in? I know you can buy non-expensive longer bits at many hardware stores. Even Auger bits will work (6mm or so). Too thin and the bit more likely to deflect.

I got a few bits to try out: a standard twist bit, a "DeWalt Multimaterial" bit, a "Speedbor" spade bit, and a nice lipped brad point is on order. Will do addendum video in a week or so.

Got some bits... will do tests this weekend and upload new video. Thanks for checking!
