The Album was special no doubt. The fact these songs still kick after 40 years speaks volumes because time is the greatest judge. Joe Jackson is a phenom and legend and chameleon all in one.

I loved that album as a drummer it rocked... I would have to say when I played it in my dorm room at UMASS. All my neighbors heard it loud and hard.

I didn't realise it at the time when I first heard Joe around this time as a kid, but the guy had a fantastic jazz and latin influence in his music. People thought of him as a new wave angry young man, but he was much cleverer than that.

Joe Jackson lived in NYC during the early 1980s when Latin music was really hot. It influenced his music at that time. Sadly, this music has never really become mainstream in USA music. This much to my disappointment as a Latino from Brooklyn ~ I have enjoyed _salsa_ all my life and thought that it would be far more popular and influential in mainstream Rock than it became.

I saw Joe Jackson back in the 80s. It was the Golden Age of jazz-inflected, new wave pop music. It's worth being old now to have been young back then.

I was a bus boy in a Club Called The Diamond, in Toronto Canada & he played there 1 night. It was an awesome show, real pro setup, good crowd. The band was just "Is she really goin out w him", and "steppin out" to me, and I had no Idea how awesome he was till that night. ❤

This was supposed to be the New Wave style of music into the 1980's. Why didn't other groups other then Elvis Costello follow suit in this style. ? It was so original good DAMN I miss those times.

Speaking of Live! The Big World album is a live direct digital masterpiece. I'm green with Envy wish I was one of the people in the audience... Sitting on my hands. I missed the early shows. My first time was night and Day tour at the Waikiki Shell. It's like a mini Hollywood bowl in the shadow of Diamond Head. Well it would have been in the shadow had it been daytime. When I talk to Graham Maby 30 years later... he didn't remember it. But we did talk about how great early Police shows were. My 4th & 5th were Zenyatta. Ghost was good but the horns kind of ruined it. Sting found the resonant frequency of the old Rattley coliseum with that Steinberger bass that was that was so fashionable at the time. He had a lot of fun with it but it was also the resonant frequency of your skeleton. People were looking around at each other "is he trying to kill us?" Was the look in their eyes. The last tour and reunion not very satisfying, to flash. I worked a bunch of shows in the second leg of the USA. And saw the very first fan show in Vancouver.

Sue Hajopoulos. Not her first time time playing percussion. She also plays the flute. One thing you can always count on with Joe, he'll always bring a solid compliment of expert musicians with him to the studio and the stage. Always.

I was in Germany in 1978. Joe Jackson played at this little club. He got into a Row with some of the audience members and stormed off the stage. I don't even think he played 15 minutes. It was very disappointing because I really like his music!
