I grew up with Robotech (The American dub) I used to at every chance I get use my mothers money to get the same two episodes (it was the only ones the rental place had :P) over and over to the point were mum had to ask the store to NOT let me rent it again as she was TIRED of it :P

You'll prolly get both. All Macross shit for US release & a Robotech live action movie. Sony owns the rights to said movie & their involvement is the only reason Harmony Gold was allowed to retain/renew any rights. They struck some dual franchise profit sharing deal, which is cool as hell. Robotech changed my life, but im still pissed at HG for squandering arguably the most influential IP in anime history. Can U even imagine if Macross had been sold devoloped properly the 35 yrs, smh.

Kids these days don't know how good they have it thanks to Macross/ Robotech. In my opinion the greatest and beginning of it all. My only thing is that with the graphics in this video Macross/ Robotech should revamp and reintroduce to kids in this era so the appreciation can rekindle what we had as children when it first aired. The original will always be the best.

Footage specifically seems to be from the Macross DYRL sidescrolling shooting game (released on Playstation and Saturn), and the fever and attract segments from the Macross pachinko machine. (The pachinko animation is AMAZING and I wish they would just remake the series in full with it, but no, it's just for a stupid pachinko machine. =( ) As mentioned in another reply, you can get the pachinko footage from the Japanese Macross 30th anniversary Blu-ray set.

I was so heartbroken when I saw that footage years ago, only to discover it was from a freaking pachinko machine! :( Macross/Robotech deserves to be treated to an update similar to Space Battleship Yamato, only IMO it really doesn't need much in the way of script changes. Only issue for me is, as much as I can understand those who'd obviously want/expect the original Macross, I'd personally want the Robotech voice actors and music, due to nostalgia. :)

@@Celyuz it's all good man. Just think before you react, and not just on KZbin but across all social media. It's something everyone needs to start doing. Including me. It's still awesome either way. Because when a jet takes off from a carrier that's pretty much what it does. If you remember, a carrier is bobbing up and down and the wind is blowing it. Even with a catapult they try to catch it when the bow is high on the wave so the plane has some extra airtime before it drops down. It's just a neat little detail.
