Ramrod is one of the coolest mecha.. it feels like the design that in the same time ends an era of daimos-like looking robots and enter the gundam era, because it have more complex look, and I like how he have part of his shuttle on the back as a jetpack instead of thrusters only in the foots. Near as I can tell, "Saber Rider" is a rework of the Japanese anime "Star Musketeer Bismark" and the rights are owned by WEP LLC, the same company that holds the American rights to Voltron. These sorts of 80s anime liscencing deals are notorious for being a complete mess of who owns what and who has to be paid how much if something does happen today. Which leads to lawsuits that almost always kill any attempt at a revival at the pre-production stage. For example, an attempt by WEP to make a live-action Voltron movie led to a 10-year lawsuit. Saber Rider could be worse than most because six original episodes were commissioned for the American market. Creating an original IP is comparatively way less of a headache, so long as your giant robot isn't cowboy-themed.
