Hey friends, My Almond tree has been a part of my garden for many years. Lately, cleaning the leaves during the period of shedding is now becoming tedious. I have contemplated destroying it but today I will be highlighting what I did to the Almond tree that has change my mind from destroying it. This tree provides a home for many of my orchids. You will get a close up view of some of the blooms that hanging under the tree in spite of what’s done to it. You will see Myrmecocattleya, Dendrobium plants and other orchids.
I hope you will enjoy the beautiful blooms hanging out under the tree and if you do please share it with your friends and family. Show that you like it by giving it a heart leave me a comment and share with your family and friends.

Hello 😊💕Your yard looks so stunning. I know it takes a lot of cleaning and hard work for it to look so beautiful 😍 I'm so glad you didn't cut the tree and you found a way to treat the disease so the fungus wouldn't spread to your beautiful orchids. That area is really a show stopper especially with all of those blooming orchids. It's a nice shady spot to sit and relax and have a cup of coffee. I have a mango tree in my yard and in this harsh dry season, it's the only shady spot in my yard where I sit, relax and admire nature. Always enjoy your videos. Warm greetings from TnT 😎🌴☀️💕

Hello Nicole I'm always so happy to hear from you. Yes that area is a nice little space to sit, relax and just enjoy the garden and so I'm really glad that I don't have to remove it. Even those these trees comes with some amount of work, it's always good to have them as the positives far out weighs the negative.. Also the fact that you have your Mango tree which serves similar purpose as my Almond tree I'm know you understood my dilemma. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments, it's greatly appreciated. One love from Jamaica 🥂💖😎

So happy to hear that you were able to deal with this issue with your Almond tree leaves. GREAT JOB! Glad that you were able to keep that tree in your yard. As you said, "It would be a shame to lose a tree." You have such beautiful orchids hanging under your tree. Really delightful to see so many flowers! I'm removing a few hedge plants as I no longer want to have to trim so many hedges in my yard any more. Decided that it would be too bare with all of them out so right now I am removing two for every one I keep. Will wait a few months and see how I like that look and how much garden work has been relieved. (I would rather spend time on my bonsai and orchid collections than maintaining hedges. And, yes, I don't want to hire someone to do this. I am a "hands-on" gardener.)

Hey Pat, girl I quite understand. We have to do what works for us especially when we do most things for ourselves. I'm sure thinning the edge will lighten the area. For sure the more time you will now have to give your orchids and bonsai will also extend into you acquiring more. Happy gardening friend. Blessings!!🥂😎👌

Hello Nana, I know right! You never know until you know. I planted it because I wanted something that is trainable, grows quickly and provides shade etc. well the rest is history. Had I known I perhaps would have planted something different. Nevertheless I think I finally figured it out and I can enjoy it much more. Lots of blessings your way. 🙏🥂💖

I can relate to your frustration of having to clean up leaves daily. My neighbor has a plumeria that’ is always dropping leaves and flowers in my yard and there are several big trees along the street behind my house and the leaves from that is always all over my yard and in my plants. Its a daily struggle to clean my yard and the worst part about it is there’s nothings I can do about it. 😑
@growingorchidsinjamaica

Hello there friend, yes it is really a lot of work to keep the yard clean from the leaves as it is a daily task. I really had to figure a way out without destroying the tree. I'm so happy I finally figured it out. Your situation seem bad though as the trees doesn't even belongs to you. Oh dear!! That is horrible.. that's a hard one to get out of. 🤔.

@growingorchidsinjamaica
@growingorchidsinjamaica 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Diana, as long as there is still some life in the plant it will survive. Soak it in so epson salt and molassis before you pot it and that should help to inspire roots. I find that cattleya orchids does better for me in the wooden baskets under 50% mesh. Maybe you could try that and see what happens. Cheers!
