My heart lurched when you mentioned your zygo update was going to be a fail video, because a few days ago, after watching your last zygo update, I decided to switch my zygo to the repotme cymbidium mix. It had been on a slow decline, and needed some sort of intervention. I breathed a sigh of relief when you said they liked the soil, but you did a different boo-boo. Right now my zygo is going through some transplant shock, and has dropped a couple of leaves from older pseudobulbs.

I was amazed last week to see a Rhynchostylis gigantea for sale at my local garden centre (UK). Never seen a species orchid, nevermind a slow growing Rhynchostylis!) in a shop before! It was the beautiful white and purple spotted one. Soo excited to buy it! Always worth checking out garden centres! I even got a Sharry baby once in a DIY store soo exciting when that happens!

The green one is special!! I have the same Zygolum Louisendorf as well, and I absolutely love it! It is a fairly large flower. My guess is that it is the 'Rhein Moonlight' or 'Clown." What do you think? Maybe 17:16 is a "Volcano Queen'? I have that one too.

I recognise the typical grey plastic pots, I bet 99% of this haul came from the Netherlands. Here (NL) the gardencentres are closed due to covid, I'm happy they sent "our" orchides there ;)

Good luck with the white vanda! I've got one which I had to cut the stem last year due to fusarium. It's still hanging on, growing some new and clean roots. But I guess I'll have to cut the stem a bit more. Hope it'll survive!

I love the blue-ish colored vanda, so in love with it, when I look at the spottings, it resembles a little bit of the sanderiana and on camera, it looks totally blue :O I am little bit jealous that you could buy orchids right now :D but I'll look for the ID of that vanda because there's a nursery of warm growing orchids here that has tags on every vanda hybrids or primary cross vandas, the blue one I think is the Vanda robert blue #222 and the white one is I think Vanda Princess Mikasa Alba. You could look into the facebook page- Golden Bloom Orchids and most of their vandas and other orchids from Thailand have tags.

Wow! You found all kinds of beautiful orchids on your outing. Amazing. I ordered a phal from a nursery about 6 weeks or so ago just because of the name, carrot cake. It was only $10 USD. Well, it came looking so healthy with a ton if big fat roots. It continued to do well and then last week I was watering and I see a spike but not just a spike a terminal spike! Is there any way to save the plant? Any chance it would ever correct and spike again? I’m so disappointed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Lisa

I recently saw a peloric Zygo that looked just like the one you had at a Green Thumb store in Southern California; unfortunately it did not have a tag. They definitely are rare because that's the first (and only) peloric Zygo that I've seen.

I have a Vanda VERY similar to your beautiful lavender blue. I want to say that it's Lavender Sprinkles (commercial name), though I can't know for sure.

I’m a very new beginner. I have many, MANY, plants. But never delved in to orchids. My sister-in-law received an orchid at her mother’s funeral. It was in sad shape, and in my uneducated attempt to save it, I actually caused its earlier demise instead ☠️. The guilt and regret has kicked in a resolve to keep an orchid of my own alive. I’ve been listening to hours and hours of tutorials, and 2 days ago I purchased my first orchid. Yesterday I purchased another! All you orchid lovers please pray for me!!! I’ll need it!!! 😳❤️

Your smelly orange catatante around 17mins looks like a variation of my Hilo Firecracker "New Year", but mine has slightly larger flowers & to me smells like honey, definitely not bleach lol. Your zygo around 6:30 looks like the zygos that have been in a grocery chain here in the US - I thought it was a Louisendorf, but it had a tag! It said something "Prayoon". Hopefully they lead you in the right direction 😁

The yellow zygo you're talking about is a cross between a zygo and a promenea citrina.. I don't know the proper name.. but i know one of it's parents 😅 i guess Propetalum is what you're talking about

Hi! I enjoy your content a lot! The haul is amazing, but I have some questions if ok! If not, I apologize, don't want to make you feel uncomfortable or used. I've recently got yet another Cambria orchid and I reppoted it because it had only roots and barely any medium and while I did use your reppoting videos I didn't put spagnum moss but only bark and coco coir because I live in a cold climate (but phals and Dendrobium nobile do wonderfully for me) and did not want to risk overwatering! However, pseuobulbs are shriveled (the mature ones, and I cut the flower spikes even tho they weren't yet spent), but it's putting the new growth at the same time so my question is if that's too little water or could it be something else? The newer pseuobulbs are not shriveled. I don't understand cambia just yet

HI, Danny! I have a question that is not related to today’s video. Recently I got myself my first epidendrum stamfordianum galaxy which came with flowers (yey!). I’m not sure whether I should cut the flower spike close to the base after the blooms are done, because I see something that looks like an “eye”. So, is it possible another growth to sprout from there? Should I cut the flower spike or let it be?

We live in the same country, different cities though, but I've never seen such variety of orchids in our flower shops. I'm ready to drive all the way to the capital, just please please please let me know which flower shops you use! The only "exotic" orchid I've managed to spot in just over a year time I'm interested in the subject was Zygopetalum, from the same Netherland nursery by the way, - it was finishing blooming when I got it. It was also rotting in the pot, I repoted it into the soil following one of your videos. But I guess the soil was infected with insects and was very poor quality, I ended up repoting it again, in bark as I don't have anything else, such a disaster... I'm hoping I will be able to save it, I want to order special potting mix from repotme next month, and better and bigger pot. I've never seen proper plastic pots for orchids in our shops. And I never shopped for flower accessories online)
