You know more about currency in your little finger. So, this is not the student trying to teach the teacher. Just one more highlight about 1982 D small date, and I know you know this already. The 2 on the small date has more curve on the down stroke, whereas the large date is almost straight on the down stroke!! Just thought I would mention that also!! Legally when you send in money to be graded it has a number or serial code of some form. That code tracks your piece of money everywhere. They could do that but it's super illegal so who knows.

I've worried about that same thing but I've never sent anything to be graded. I imagine for what they charge they should be completely honest. I would take really detailed photos of your coins before sending them in.

The 2 on the small date has an extra curve that the large date doesn't have. A little easier to identify that way, at least for me. Thank You for all the info you put out. Much appreciated. What do you know about 1984 no mint mark pennies? I heard a couple vids say they are rare and worth big $, but others say only worth less than $200 at high graded. I find and keep a lot of '82 LMCs as well as every cent < 1982. It took me forever but i finally can recognize the 7 different '82s LMCs. Pennies never get boring to look through. Cu is the new oil.
