A parent does not stop correcting his child - the word says that the Father work in us to will and to do. The tense is an ongoing action. So it is incorrect to teach that the Lord will stop correcting us if we don't get in line the first time. Now if you turn your back on the Lord and walk away, that might be something different. But even then I say, look at the prodigal son - his return was celebrated by his father.
