Might have to go and have a look though our branch isn't in the middle of a price war at the moment.😉

Hi Jag. There is quite a variation in quality in these twin packs, so far the worst were the blue ones - that was the skull & cross bones and the captain america shield style, they even had very short flying lines - the bright multicoloured patterned ones seemed OK and the mainly red with big writing ones seemed OK too. The better quality ones are the ones with fibreglass spars, don't seem to see them very often in Poundland and they are singles, not twin-packs so "twice as expensive" :-)

Thanks for posting this video... Wanted a cheap kite for the grand children, got the 99p Pound land ones, bonus was there are 2 in the pack, but no instructions how to put together, never had much success with kites but after following your video the kite flew like a dream straight from the off, the grand children loved it, and so did I.... Going to buy another pack, Recommended..... Thanks

That is great news. These cheap ones are a bit of a mixture in quality. I have had some where the canes were badly warped and too thin.

Mine went together all ok and the canes were the right length I see yesterday they had Spiderman Kite, going to buy that next week for the grandchildren to fly, after I've had a go

@@stuartrose3552 I find the ones with the fibreglass spars are the most reliable but all of them suffer from the little plastic fittings losing their grip on the plastic eventually. But for £1 I think they are great value.

This guy has put them together wrong.

Yes, I am not surprised. You are paying very little money so you cannot expect great results. If you find the ones with fibreglass spars instead of these with bamboo canes, you will find they last a little bit longer. If you are interested in kites you will find more information in the video description.

I've bought 9 of these kites as I wanted to get 6 good ones out of them. The grand children are having a competition at weekend with them. The main problem I found was the wing spar socket kept coming off - I hot glued them back and then stuck them down with reinforced parcel tape - they seem to be OK now. I did find bits missing (4 way spar connectors) and the spars of odd sizes, 1 kite line 11 metres long. I changed the bridles to polyester ones - much better. They all fly now

Excellent, they do seem to vary in quality. The ones with fibreglass spars are much more reliable but twice the price :-) I was really surprised when I found how short the kite line was on a couple of them. In the next video I repaired one of the ones I was flying a few weeks back that had very loose/short spars by replacing them with Poundland Bamboo flower canes cut slightly longer. The extra tension then cause the plastic spar sockets to come loose and like you I reinforced that with parcel tape :-)

Grandad i have inport ask.Can i connect servo to normal receiver.Servo is all same like and other just in is normal dc motor can help ?
@GrandadIsAnOldMan7 жыл бұрын
When you say a normal receiver I am guessing you mean a cheap toy grade receiver and the answer is NO. A hobby grade servo uses 3 wires. Two for power and one for the signal wire that tells it which way and how far to turn. A toy grade receiver only uses two wires. It sends positive and negative one way to turn left and the other way to turn right.

made in china :)

Most toys in this world are made in China, even the ones that don't have Made In China stamped on them are probably made in China and assembled elsewhere. I know I am over generalising but I am not far from the truth.

Ain't you meant to put the sticks in the holes?
@GrandadIsAnOldMan4 жыл бұрын
If you mean the holes that are there for you to tie the bridle in place, No.
