And thanks go to both these chaps for creating a publication that helped to keep the hobby buoyant and interesting, and for the new ideas such as the 'Right Track' DVD's etc, which have been a wonderful help to relative novices like me, struggling to navigate the newly emergent techniques and creative possibilities of railway modelling. I've watched many of these DVDs and have really enjoyed listening to Tony Wright's wry humour and his obvious quiet passion for the hobby. Thanks!

Most of my favourite layouts too. Sadly I missed this interview at the time, so glad I've seen it now. It'll soon be 30 years!

I remember every single one of those magazines!! Most of them were thrown away in the recycling box by one of my mother’s cleaning ladies!’

It would have been funny if they had an extra empty beer glass appear each time they cut to the pub setting, and adopt a slightly more pissed speech pattern with each shot. Railways with a touch of comedy!

It's a shame there is no mention of any modern image layouts here - I do find that all the railway modelling magazines have a bias towards the steam and early BR eras - probably because most of the people who write for these magazines are of a certain generation, but it would be nice to see more modern image coverage.

I enjoyed this. I'm a Canadian but am fascinated by British Railway Modeling. I am considering a Second layout to be built beside my Candian Pacific HO layout and Model the a smaller BR blue period with Class 37 etc.
