Thailand did trigger the Crisis but it was a result of the economic bubble that was the Asian Economic Miracle but I digress, Thailand did start out with a better economy with a higher GDP per capita before 1997 than ours and the massive influx of IMF funds helped them to bounce back more than us - Gloria's sound policies did ensure that we were not severely affected by the financial crisis and keep our economy relatively stable compared to the highs and lows of Thailand's economy.
