I found out about this last year and I have asked so many people if they have heard about it. Every person said no. It's terrible that this has been forgotten. This tragedy is something that should never have happened and should not have happened since. My respects go to all of the victims, families and friends of Summerland and Grenfell.

I rember this because I grew up with it Ann I'm pritty sure we visited it even though I was only 5 at the time I was born in the Isle of Man but it was always talked about back then if they had listened to the health An safety from this then grenfell would never would have happend but there was othere fires with the same kinda cladding x

50 years on..I'm thinking and sparing a thought for ted moulds from my home town of rayleigh essex who lost his wife his mother in law and his three daughters to the Summerland fire....

I am now 59 years of age - I remember going to the IOM with my parents in the July of 1973. We went there for the TT races but also visited Summerland about three weeks before the disaster. I will never forget looking at the plastic side windows that faced out to the sea. My thoughts are with everyone who lost their lives there on that fateful day. RIP.

I had no idea about this until seeing the news bulletin. This lovely lady delivered my youngest son in 2006, and I'll never forget her face and her kindness, although that's no consolation for what she's been through❤ What a terrible thing to have happened 😢xx

Coming from North London and having seen the smoke from Grenfell, I can only imagine what it was like for the people there, truely terrible and they still didn't learn, given what happened at Grenfell Tower. Seems to be endemic corruption in parts of the British construction trade. 😔
