1:10 i’m glad he said this, lots of teen coming of age films love to half/fully romanticize a manic pixie dream girl and even if they fail at not doing this, the intent was clear

Josh did exactly what he set out to do. I loved being able to see and understand Alaska in a way that the book didn’t portray.

I feel like as a reader I never realized how much Alaska was idealized because we were reading in Pudge’s pov. I guess that’s why many people didn’t agree with the choice of actress for Alaska, cause Pudge always saw like the biggest sex appeal in her and Kristine doesn’t really give off that vibe. However, I’ll enjoy seeing Alaska as way more than what Pudge thought of her.

James Ray i literally never said that i didn’t like her. I think Kristine is amazing as Alaska lol i’m saying that based on the comments on social media i saw, cause there were some.

actually a lot of people were being mean to her when they first revelead the cast. john green had to ask in social media for people to respect their choices. but i guess these people are finally realizing how kristine really is the perfect Alaska.

this show/movie exceeded all of my expectations, and then some. I've read, and reread the book over these years, and listen to it on audible. but this is a very rare phenomenon where the movie/show is better than the book. John Green out done himself..I cried my eyes out, because one it took forever to get a movie..but also because the cast, and the plot was just like the book, but richer, more detailed etc.

So unfair for Europeans to not be able to watch it T.T edit: so I have watched it and it's honestly the first book adaption where I didn't think the book was better and the movie did lack this and that and they've forgotten to insert this and that from the book. All I can say is that both are good and it is a job so amazing done : D The series are great. I am so thankful for the work behind them

I agree, his way of speaking was so monotone, like he could barely get the words out of his mouth sometimes. At first i thought it was intentional but then watched a few of his interviews and realized he is just like that in real life also.
