I love how in interviews, Kristine stares at people when their speaking. Like she gives them her full attention even when they’re behind her, she’ll turn her back to look at them.

I lowkey think she has a mild form of social anxiety 💯 or she seems mute 🤐 at times in the sense of speaking for the majority of times only when spoken to. Probably a childhood trauma experience.

I haven't read the book but I watched the show and I love how they didn't just end it with her death and Dr. Hyde explains how everything that comes together must fall apart. It's like they took this heart-breaking thing that felt impossible to get over, and reminded us that it's the natural way of life. Life goes and nothing lasts forever, so live in each moment.

I hadnt heard of the book, randomly picked the series, watched it; then ordered the book. The are both amazing, book and series, but definitely different. I highly recommend reading the book, it's John Green's sole creation as you know. I think i read it too close to watching the series though cause i kept seeing the series as i read instead of being present with the book and my imagination, but no regrets, but yeah, if you liked the series, felt the story, definitley read the book. :)

@@wheninroamful Okay thanks for sharing. I've been looking for a new book to read but wasn't sure if reading this one after watching the series would ruin it for me. I watched the show a little while ago so maybe I'll give it a read with a fresh perspective.

The barn scene was also one of my favourite moments. The episode it happens in is one of the most exquisite pieces of television I've ever seen. And I'm a Firefly fan so you all should understand what it means for me to give that compliment :P. Y'all probably won't see these comments, but thank you for bringing John's book to life like you did. John, thank you for your incredible story. To the showrunners and rest of the crew: thank you. This was a fantastic interview. I loved the "selfish" questions from everyone (including you, John! ;D). These were like the questions you hear from fans at a convention, rather than journalists, and it was perfect. There's a time and a place for professional interviewers, but this was much better handled by people who are so close to the material. Great call, ET.

I might be stating the already known, here by in his "The Fault in our Stars," the book Hazel loves and goes to meet the author doesn't have an ending where you're left completely satisfied to knowing what happened. She seeks out the author to find out and he doesn't have answers she thinks he should have. John was putting the experience of fans wanting to know what happened to Alaska (which he never knew himself) into words.

I love the no answer part of the story but I think a big part of it is letting the readers create their own answer, I’m not sure if that was what John was going for while writing it but for a lot of people it’s like “choose your own adventure” you get to finish the story in your own words while never having it answered by the author so you never know exactly what happened (even if there was no exact explanation) but you have ideas you get to live and tinker with and I think that’s insanely special.
