“How do you know that?” *points to his nose* “because we are Asian and nosey” LEGEND 😂😂😂 Good for you mate, went and found your father and made that effort despite knowing what you did about him and still giving him a chance in order to formulate your own ideas and judgement. Truly brought a tear to my eye.

The ending was absolutely mesmerising. SubhanAllah look how the father realises that his son is a good Muslim and he says to the son to pray for him when he is gone, he knows that when a person isn’t alive anymore only three things will benefit him and one of the the things is a righteous child.

The actions of our fathers makes us better men and greater fathers. I would sacrifice all I have for my children. As a working father there is nothing more I look forward is to see my daughters when I come home. Our characters the we behave ,how we conduct ourselves in on a day to day basis.,our children see and act upon this. Mims you have good character and have Sabar. May Allah (swt) reward you for this. True and why is his father handing the responsibly to Mims for his step brothers? Im not being funny there is no sincerity in the eyes of his father.

I hope he asked his dad and his dads new family many questions and studied him as a person. Because I don't think its just old age, it could be that the dad had some mental health problems. He seems a little.... different. Even if you look at the younger him (0:42) the fact that he can't look into the camera says a thousand words. And it wasn't uncommon in the olden days (and even now really) for families in Pakistan to marry their problematic sons off to women abroad if they were lucky enough to get the chance. The Asian mentality is such that they believe marriage is the cure to everything. If he or she is reckless or unstable or problematic - get them married off. Nothing like having a spouse and kids and responsibilities to change you as a person. But the problem is of course that that is false and if someone is not mentally prepared for marriage naturally they will walk away. It is very sad for his son, the resentment he must have had like all kids with an absent parent, wondering why they left and didn't come back. But maybe it will give him some closure if he knows that it wasn't just a lack of caring that made his dad leave but other factors too.

Agree but it could also be that his mother also had mental health issues before she got married

Hi Mim. I just wanted to say how proud I am of you for undertaking such an emotional journey to find your father and for making such an insightful documentary. You are an inspiration and so mature beyond your years. God bless you and your family. Wishing you bliss, joy and happiness for the future. You deserve the best that life can offer. Everything that happens to us is for a reason. Also, give up the hope that the past would have been anything different from what it actually was. Everything that has happened in the past, to the present and future is all happening in divine order. Hardship teaches us lessons. Keep up the excellent work that you are doing Mim. Well done my friend. Due respects, Sonny Singh

Mim....I've been through the exact same situation. Meet him and move on. It only hurts after. He will not accept you. If he wanted to see you he would have made contact years ago. When I saw my father for the first time it was very similar. He gave me hugs etc food and so called hospitality. All FAKE. Don't expect anything of him. You seem to have been brought up as a very decent young man. Your mum is your father and mother, not this man. I lost my dear mother earlier this year and on that day I lost both parents in one. I saw my father at the age of 30 now 50 and met his other woman and his kids. They were all smiley smiley. But when the novelty of this new boy wears off the true colours come out and it's not nice. No matter how hard you try with him and his other family they will never accept you. YOU take care of YOU and YOUR family. Leave him to his. He is nothing to you. DONT Hurt you mum. Your mum and her family are your TRUE KIN. All the best.

respect to you to at least try and get answers and not hear one side of the story. Sometimes women use the child as collateral against the dad. It’s wrong thing to do as kids need their dad. They have no qualms about accepting payments from csa though. They may have raised him but they stopped him from seeing his dad which has now affected him mentally.
