Great News, Leonard! Cultured buttermilk (and all cultured dairy) is very low in lactose! I’m lactose intolerant and have done a LOT of research on it. The bacteria in cultured dairy breaks down most of the lactose, so many people who are lactose intolerant don’t have an issue with it.

Me too. I just stopped refrigerating my syrup a couple years ago after my teenage son complained to me that it's not supposed to be cold. I guess I just never thought about it, and thought it needed to be since that's what my parents did.

Real syrup does mold, so if you don't go through it very fast, it's best to keep it in the fridge. It doesn't change the taste at all either. Super artificial syrup like Mrs. Butterworths probably doesn't mold though.

I felt his roommate frustration so much. My roommate will buy enough groceries for a whole family and just chaotically throw them all loosely anywhere he wants in the fridge and it drives me nuts lol. Drinks and sauces on top of the eggs, raw uncooked food thrown on top of leftovers... etc.

​​@@robopechaYes, as other poster said, store bought eggs (in US) have been washed which removes protective coating. Unwashed fresh eggs need no refrigeration. Bread in fridge stales faster. But you can freeze it!

You have to refrigerate 100% maple syrup or it will grow bacteria after growing and it does expire.
