All of these 3 are just next to amazing. But my personal favourite is Amouage Interlude Black Iris just because of it's buttery powdery Iris note in it.

Strangely enough I never tried the first Interlude man, but a few weeks ago I've sampled Interlude black iris and Interlude 53. They were an instant love and I wouldn't know which one to pick. Overall, they smell the same to me, except only that Interlude 53 is very smoky and a bit darker. I know you have many reviews on Amouage fragrances, but could you do a top 10 or 15? Thank you.

Yesterday I tried Interlude 53, and I was surprised that I like it much more than the OG. Also I asked some girls, and they really liked it. So I ordered a bottle today, using the still valid black friday deal. Still expensive, but this is a real fragrance with lots of oil.

Black Iris 100% same vibe of Interlude but Iris note smooth it a lot

Wasn't a big fan of the OG but Black Iris was an instant buy. Amouage rarely makes something I don't like tbh. Blind bought Overture Man and couldn't have been happier with the result. On my second bottles of Lyric and Jubilation and about to run out of Reflection. Love Amouage.

Great presentation, Sebastian! I'm a huge Amouage fan. Just bought my first Interlude over a month ago and I love it. As of now, it could pass as my fav. Great review as always Sebastian. I currently own Lyric Man Sunshine Man Interlude Man -original formulation Of those it’s a toss up, I like Interlude because it’s so different and interesting, but I also really like Lyric, and my wife loves Lyric on me. Of the two Flankers, I’d be most interested in trying Black Iris because it seems to be more unique from the other two. Thanks again Sebastian, keep smelling great.

I’m so glad you did this comparison video. I’ve only tried the original Interlude Man, which I really enjoy. I’ve been very curious about the Black Iris, and didn’t even know about the latest Interlude 53. The original still sounds like it would be the winner for me, although I'm sure I'll give the other two a try at some point.

A great comparison Sebastian. One of the first brands to bring back the blue-bottle trend. Jubilation and Reflection could each use a 53 flanker! That would be syyyyyyyk.

Great comparison! Really great explanation of how they differ and how each one wears. I think Black Iris Man is the one thatd suit me best but now 53 has me very curious as id think it'd perhaps be smoother and rounder than the original. Ive only briefly smelled the original and from a dabber so I don't feel I really got to experience it fully. My favorite Amouage so far is Reflection Man but I need to try Black Iris, 53, Lyiric and Jubi. Thanks and take care. - Colin

I'll be honest I actually find it unpleasant. Perhaps it doesn't have good chemistry with my skin. But even on cloths i find the smell off putting..maybe its the oregano not sure..

As an owner of vintage 2013 bottle of Interlude I must say that I prefer it over the flankers. However all 3 are very close to each other in my opinion.

I didn’t like black iris version. There was something weird at the top. Otherwise I enjoy many of Amouage fragrances. Memoir man is my favourite followed by Epic man, Jubilation, Interlude, Opus 6, and beach hut.

Totally agree. Original Interlude is much more compelling than Black Iris. Its just watered down Interlude missing all that is original and epic about it. The oregano note opening and all the other note contrasts, smokiness, power, etc.

Other than how long 53 is macerating, is there a real difference practically in having a 53% oil fragrance and a 23% oil? For example, If I just spray the 23% twice, am I essentially getting the same thing as a 53%? Or will the amount of alcohol mixed into the oil make a difference as it's sprayed? I don't get any NOTICEable difference with 53 verse the original, except that it is more concentrated. If no one told me, I wouldn't know they smelled difference (and even after being told, I'm still not sure they smell different)

Awesome review. I recently purchased this Monster, and I was sure I was not going to like it, but to my surprise, after the initial spray, you got the Dam Beast all in your face. However, I am calling this Hyde and Jekyll (After The Book Jekyll & Hyde) as Mr. Hyde was the Beast within Dr. Jekyll. The initial spray you get, Mr. Hyde all in your face very 💪🏾 almost repugnant like smell (I ascertain its the oregano), but give it a few minutes and Dr. Jekyll comes out so refined and elegant. The dry down reminds me of Parfumes DeMarley (Carlise), or by Killians Black Phantom, or is it just my Olfactory 💡 I am a Niche Crack Head (Smookie) to heck with (Pookie). I must get Black Iris and 53.
