It's so interesting to see how books sit differently with different people. I really truly LOVED the first part of Psalm for the Wild Built and I really vibed with Dex and their life, and I felt like some of the magic of the book went away once Mosscap was introduced. I adored Mosscap, but the first half had me so enthralled and I would have followed Dex to the ends of the EARTH in their pursuit of finding their peace.

I really loved Betty, it’s one of my all time favorites now so pls don’t apologize for making it the book club pick! I would’ve never picked it up otherwise. Also, just an FYI “prose” is any writing that doesn’t have metric structure, so like regular novels and short stories. How Clap When You Land is written is the opposite of that - lyrical or poetry. Figured you’d wanna know bc I also got it confused for a long time lol

An amazing graphic novel i just read which i think you might enjoy too is ‘The Magic Fish’ by Trung Le Nguyen! It follows Tiên and his parents who were Vietnamese refugees, learn English through fairy tales. I’m horrible at giving spoilers so I’d say read the synopsis from goodreads and Tillie Walden’s review :) The illustrations are beautiful and i really appreciated the author’s detailed notes at the end along with extra illustrations too!

Hi! I loved your video as usual -- definitely putting some of these on my TBR. Unrelated to books, but I really feel like you would enjoy this animated tv show called "The Owl House"!! It's about this girl who, feeling ostracized in her own world, stumbles upon a portal to the demon realm and decides to stay there to learn how to become a witch. I really love the show so much -- season 1 is a little episodic and has a classic "Disney channel silly fun goofy adventures" type beat, but season 2 is quite possibly one of my favorite seasons out of any show I've ever watched. It has a great plot, phenomenally fleshed out character arcs, and fantastic themes. Plus, it has amazing representation! I've felt myself connect to a lot of characters and lines all throughout the show. I highly recommend it. There's only two seasons out right now, and the third season has been severely shortened by Disney, but it's awesome nevertheless. There's so much I could say about it, but if you ever get the chance, please try it out.
