I don't think this would be a bad ending, just not a relevant to the original story ending. Many stories move away from their original intent, and we have seen signs of PTJ starting to bring Lookism back into the story, so we could still see a Lookism based ending, maybe Daniel putting a stop to someone elses bullying for how they look. I also really like how you put the relationship between Gun and James. Both are of them were designed to surpass the peak of the 0 Generation, Gapryong Kim and Shingen Yamazaki. Both were trained from a young age to be the best they could be. But whereas James had everything he could want, Gun was forced out of his home, had to watch everyone he cared about die and was raised in prison. Gun is a good person who was raised to be evil, James is an evil person taught to be good. Both serve as guides to Daniel but Gun serves as a mentor and brother to Daniel whilst James is a goal and antagonist to Daniel. All while pretending to be Daniel's friend.
