WHAT ARE WE CALLING THIS PROJECT?? im sorta thinking BIG BOGEY but open to suggestions. I was originally intending in doing this project very slowly over a few months and put up the videos after i finished, but alas i have become obsessed (a few days in and i know if i dont get it done asap itll just take forever). cus of this its racking up in the pennies so i am gunna get the vids out! and gunna try get it done pronto! follow along on the journey! I dont usually do sponsored videos, but this project is a bit more pricey than the usual synth malarky so if any mini/automotive companies interested in sponsoring any of the upcoming vids in this project please get in touch!

It's an old enough car to do that with as well, with today's (Or hell, the 90's) electrogizmonics in cars you would be able to do a lot less yourself outside of "buy units and cable trees and build in as prescribed" which is a lot less 'just do it' friendly.

mbe paint a subtle charred flamey bit where the wood was so when ppl ask where the wood went, you can say it was in a barn fire, or it burnt up on re-entry 😅

Boy, does this bring back memories! My first car was a 1965 Ford Falcon. It was old enough to vote in Canada when I bought it, and 18 years of Alberta winters had done a number on the fenders, the rockers, the wheel wells, the floor, you get the picture. After a LOT of farting around, I had a solid car. Bonus, it turns out when you rebuild the engine, you turn it from a diesel that runs on its own engine oil back into a gasoline engine (when I first drove it, I was going through at least a liter of oil every 5 days!). The people that had to drive behind me before the engine rebuild were very grateful not to have to change lanes anymore! I still miss my little Falcon. I called it Fred! 🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with this little beauty!

My uncle was a mechanic who specialised in BMCs, so I grew up believing good things come in small packages. My third car was a mini moke, the Australian big wheel model with the 1100cc engine. God that car got some great comments at the lights with the rag top folded, especially from small kids! After I sold it, prefering my bicycle for the commute it did duty as a "paddock basher" and is probably still rusting away in rural Tasmania.

Flippin' heck I didn't know you would start going and doing car revivals.... If you decide to do this more often I suggest watching Junkyard Digs and Vice Grip Garage as well as Pole Barn Garage on youtube, they're channels that do a number of revivals on cars that have been parked for 20+ years and they have a lot of good advice and information for getting cars running again and getting them road worthy. Yes they're all American cars (since they're based in the U.S.) but the various principles still apply. But otherwise the metalwork you've done does look pretty good and I think you're right with most of the metal replacement since that's the biggest issue with uni-body cars, if the body rots then the structural integrity goes with it.
