This stuff fascinates me to no end. How wild it was back in the 70's

I was there in the mid 90s to catch an airplane out of there from Hiborne cay. Saw the boat and heard the story from a cool guy that took us to the abandoned airport to fly back to Nassau. Interesting experience for sure.

How much money do you think is hidden on that and the surrounding Islands
@craigmonteforte14784 жыл бұрын
thats how i always heard the story too it totally matches Carlos style back in that era as he made up all the rules on Normans Cay in the late 70s early 80s and of course money wasnt ever a problem for him getting anything done the way he wanted to do whatever it was I imagine the Couple that owned the boat knew there want anything they could do as Carlos had all of the Bahamian officials on his payroll during those days

On Midsummer Day of 1975, I walked from Major Subdivision a small subdivision of off Collins Avenue, between Wulff Road and Plantol Street, too East Bay Street just across from Okra Hill Road in the general neighborhood of the Poop Deck Marina and ask a guy working on his boat where he was going. He told me that he was not the owner of the sloop, but the caption would be back shortly. So I waited for the caption and ask him if I could hitch a ride to where ever he was going and how much it would cost me. The caption said a six pack of bear, so I walked over to the local bar a bought a six pack of St. Pauli Girl beer, when I returned to the caption’s sloop dock side and give the caption the six pack of St. Pauli Girl beer. I was on my way to a welcome change in my life. But not so because the caption a drop his sloop anchor outside of Norman’s Cay Key a small Bahamian Island a few hundred acres in the Exuma chain of island just south and east of New Providence Island. So I got off of the sloop took a dingy ashore. There I was on this very tiny island with no way to get back to New Providence. I don’t know if it was a twist of good fortune or just me full filling my need to overcome being suppressed in New Providence. But faith had it that there was a small restaurant and bar on the mouth of Norman’s Cay, and I asked for a job and got one as a bartender. Now I never work as a bartender before. And here I was with new job as a bartender.

@@shawnvandenabeele1455 lol George didn't make him shit! I love that people believe this story George tells. George new ONE distributor in California. The Medellin Cartel had 100's of them! Yes, George set them up with the first one, but soon he was not needed at all and that's why they cut him out. They had 100's of distribution channels, who needs a guy who gets busted every couple of years who only has one connection way out in California?

@@shawnvandenabeele1455 Also.. lets not forget Boston George didn't know what coke was until he met Carlos!!! if not for their chance meeting, Boston Jorge would have just been a 1 of 1,000 weed smugglers in cali who shipped their product to the east coast and no one would have even remembered his name.

Public Cay part of Bahamas near mainland Exuma. Yes you can go there as private boat charter from main land (Exuma) or nassau (a bit further) just ask a local boat charter to take you.....maybe between $800-$2000 Exuma being closest and cheaper
