Four adventurous boys and no broken bones in 16 years, impressive 👊
@carolinablonde88 Жыл бұрын
We have 4 boys and 2 girls. Like Ben and Meg, our boys have had some pretty bad injuries yet no broken bones....our girls however 🤦♀️ One broke her leg and the other recently broke both arm bones. I also broke my hand 2 years ago. So for our family, it's been the girls ending up in the ER
@Noname-cn4ly3 ай бұрын
I’m one of 6 kids….4 boys, 2 girls…….i was the youngest girl and had fractured my skull twice, and had broken most of my bones (legs, arms, collar bone, couple toes, 3 fingers,internal damage, etc ) by the age of 5. 😞🤦♀️. My brothers never broke bones(that I remember) but my sister broke her arm when she fell off her bike around 10 yrs old…. I am almost 70 now.

The flower is called Leucojum “ Snowflake”. I have them growing in my yard. They were my grandmother’s. I bought my grandparents old homestead. She died in 1986 in her 80’s. I love that there is evidence of her still here on this property……an old homestead in rural southeast Mississippi. ❤❤❤❤❤

Originally from East Tennessee and we had "Snowdrops" everywhere. They are very similar to "Paperwhites". They're usually one of the first flowers you see in the Spring. Hyacinth's are usually a little earlier. Crocus by far are the first.

When I first started watching them years ago I struggled to like them. I came from a very abusive dysfunction family and I couldn't believe anyone could actually be how they portrayed themselves. It took me awhile to get it, they're really like that. Watching this channel has brought a lot of healing from seeing that kids can be valued and loved and encouraged to flourish. Who knew any of _that_ happened in families! I regularly do re-parenting work to help heal some of the ptsd, and they give me excellent role models to understand healthy ways to treat kids.

Meg, we mix one cup of all purpose flour with one cup corn starch. Add your seasonings to this mixture. Beat four eggs until very frothy add three fourths of a cup of heavy whipping cream, mix together. We don't soak the chicken in milk, not for frying chicken, but for baked chicken dishes we do. Dip your chicken pieces in the egg cream mixture and then in the dry mix, back in the wet mix and once more in the dry. It's a double dip, lol. Set on a wire rack as you finish all the pieces. The setting on the wire rack gives the coating time to saturate through without it falling off the chicken. You will need a deep fat frying pan. You can use any oil/lard/tallow you want. The oil has to be at 250 so that the chicken cooks all the way through and the coating stays golden brown. There will be NO burning if you do it this way. This is how we make fry chicken. It's been in our family for a hundred years lol. Great grandma would sell fried chicken to make extra money to buy fabric because she loved to sew. I started frying chicken when I was four years old. I did the dipping. Now that I am a great grandmama, my little five year old great grand daughter helps me. Remember to adjust your coatings, wet and dry, depending on how much chicken you have. We still do it in fresh batching's. My cousin's children have a food truck and they use this recipe for the best fried chicken ever! This is good for bone in or no bones. Also, cut rectangular sticks of cheese, freeze for about an hour, coat just like you do the chicken and fry in a higher temp to brown faster and you have fried cheese sticks. Let set, they are extremally hot. Jalapeño poppers are excellent to deep fry this way. Always remember to double dip. Love to all!

The plant you asked about is called a "snow drop" (Galanthus nivalis) here in Ireland and if you leave it, it will spread. Described as "Winter’s timid child", by 18th century writer Mary Robinson, and which awakens "where no rival flowrets bloom, /Amidst the bare and chilling gloom". The snowdrop is well known to us as the flower which heralds the promise of spring. Galanthus nivalis earned its name from the Greek words gala meaning ‘milk’ and anthos meaning ‘flower’ pointing to its colour, and the Latin word nivalis, ‘of the snow’. Snowdrops have been given many other folk names over the centuries, which reflect their appearance, associated superstitions, their unusual flowering habit and their links with the spiritual calendar. Names such as Candlemas bells, dingle-dangle, white ladies, drooping heads, fair maids of February, white cups and Christ’s flower appear regularly in literature about the flower. Like many stories linking it to spring, a Moldovan legend tells of how a fight between a Winter Witch and Lady Spring gave birth to the snowdrop. The witch refused to give up her reign over the Earth when spring arrived. During the ensuing battle, Lady Spring pricked her finger with drops of blood falling to earth only to melt away the snow. Up sprung the tiny snowdrop, a sign that Lady Spring had triumphed.

So glad Buggie is OK. We had a 1972 International Harvester Travelall that we towed our trailer with. When my son was 16 months old he walked up to the truck while I was putting in some stuff. As I lifted the tailgate to close it he put his hand right on the inside of the gate and it got caught between the tailgate and the frame. I opened the door and got his hand out but it looked really mangled. We drove to the ER but the wait was really long. By the time they called us he had stopped screaming and was on the floor playing with one of his trucks. The X-ray showed no damage. Apparently at that age their bones are still flexible enough not to break.

You might get a huge surprise! Your onions that look like they died may actually come back. I bought some onion seedling last year in a small seed tray. I split them up into twelve smaller bunches and put them in twelve pots. It got super cold and the tops all died. I told everyone I'm never doing that again. A few weeks later they ALL grew back. She was always getting stitches and spraining something. Lol The oldest boy, he's high functioning autistic, has broken his tailbone five times literally. Just sprained his wrist yesterday again. Stitches several times. It's non stop. He's our more accident prone one. The youngest is the sturdy one. Lol No injuries except scuffs from wrecking his skateboard doing tricks on a ramp. The spring-onions (as we call them in Sweden) with white hangning flowers are snowdrops. They can be very simple, just a few shite leafs. You got the green dot, that is a variaty. The special-special ones have VERY many petals and a lime-green dot. Beautyful! But put them in a corner where you see them, in the grass. The stop flowering looong before you start cutting. Scilla, snowdrops, crocus - all are able to spread their bulbs and make beautifyl medows before the grass is in. Good luck! /Catta from sweden

Tommy Toe Tomatoes are the absolute best tomatoes I have ever had in my life. Very typical variety we used to grow in the South. Super sweet, super flavorful. They're smaller than the Sungold or even grape tomatoes. Meg: Big tip on frying chicken (this is what Farmer's Daughter Amish restaurant does) is to put it in the pressure cooker first, then coat and fry (buttermilk soak). I would tell you Crisco, but lard will work just fine.

Your Plant is Leucojum aestivum. Commonly known in Britain as Summer Snowflake or summer snowdrop. So glad that Buggy doesn't have a break. Toddlers are fairly flexible still when it comes to bone injuries but you may find that she guards the leg for a while and some bruising may come out in the next few days or even weeks. great Radishes. Your Asparagus will take about three years to produce anything worth eating. Allow the foliage to grow all summer and do not cut it back you might want to think about staking it to avoid breakage in the wind Cut it back once everything has died off. I leave mine until spring. Good luck with it.

With your chicken... shake off the milk then toss in a gallon bag with corn starch, then the egg bath and finally the flour. Also you may want to add a bit more grease to your pan.
