And closer to the Queen who can have contact with two future kings, one a man, one a child for now, but she can teach them what it's like to be a monarch; they're within walking distance of Windsor Castle. They're also closer to Catherine's parents who are wonderful grandparents, so they'll have both patriarchal and matriarchal family close by, all of them emotionally close (wasn't there a news blurb that Pippa and James and their three kids are moving close to the Middletons, so they will be able to visit Catherine, William and family and their kids can visit back and forth for play dates, too?). The kids' nanny isn't part of the household now, but she is still going to be taking care of the Cambridge children for now, and probably living close by like the housekeeping staff. The Cambridges are not having household staff live in.

They are near his grannie and Catherine's family which will make it easier for the children when their parents are away acting on behalf of HRH the Queen .Plus the fact it's own by crown estates and isn't getting anything done to it and is smaller and plenty of room for the children to stretch their legs in the park .The Queen gifted their home in Norfolk as a wedding gift ,and as you said office staff operate out of Kensington palace .The children were going to have to change schools eventually so what better time when Louis is starting school .Both of their parents are Hands on so William wants to do school runs etc when he isn't away on crown business .Is it not better to have people living in it than lying empty ?

Great-grandmother. HMTQ is William's grandmother and gr-grandmother to his children and that of his first cousins. And, as far as I am concerned, the more often William, Catherine, and their kids can visit with HMTQ (her health permitting), the better. She has reigned for 70 years, after all, saw her father and mother reign before that, and she has historical lessons to teach William, Catherine, and their three children as yet another future monarch and siblings of a future monarch. The British monarchy has existed for over a thousand years, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been alive for nearly a century of that time. She's a walking, talking history book! The stories she could tell...!!! And all historical facts! C'mon! I can't be the only history junkie interested in what has happened during the Queen's young lifetime, can I? What was it like to strip an engine and put it back together during her military service in WWII? What about when she was an ambulance driver during the same years? Genealogically, I'm related to Churchill with ancestors born in the late 1500s, early 1600s in common, and I'd love to know what "Cousin Winston" was like in person; she could fill me in on his personality - altho I already know I wouldn't be able to tolerate the smell of his stogie. If Her Majesty tells her gr-grandchildren (not only the Cambridges but the other grandkids and gr-grandkids as well) about the historical events in her young life, I'd so love to be a fly on the wall and listen in.... Would someone (like photographer Catherine) film these sessions that I imagine in my head...???

IMO, Kensington Palace is an official residence, which is not really a home, it's more a place where the Cambridges operate as senior royals, not as a family. I think Anmer Hall is more a real family home for them, but even so it could turn into an official holiday home where they may entertain guests, official or not. Adelaide Cottage on the other hand is perhaps just nice for them to be like a real and simple family, and from what I understand it's very close to where the Queen is and near the children's school, so it's not a selfish decision completely. I'm not a British taxpayer, but I think the Cambridges' moving to Adelaide Cottage is not distasteful or untimely.

Adelaide Cottage is convenient to a lot of locations: They're within walking distance to the Queen at Windsor Castle; school for all three children is close by, Catherine's parents live within an easy driving distance, and Pippa and family are moving close to the Middletons, so they will also be close enough to visit frequently with their children. IIRC, Edward and Sophie live nearby and used to check in on the Queen (and Prince Philip when he was alive). While they won't have live-in staff or nanny, I've read that they will be living nearby. I can't think of any negatives (other than Frogmore is also nearby and sometimes Haz & Methane will occasionally be in residence; we never see their children, so I'm kind of assuming they will be residing in California with Doria and/or nannies).

Like most of the world I admired beautiful Princess Diana tremendously and also thought she was a wonderful mother. However I think in her efforts to make sure Harry did not feel he was "second best" she overdid her insistence on both boys being treated as equals resulting in Harry's feelings of resentment and entitlement leading to his quite shocking behaviour ever since. As a Royalist I totally understand the need to move closer to childrens school and grandma Our Queen . They will be saving on fuel just one school run, saving on security, and living in a schools catchment area is what the majority of parents do. As for their additional properties. All of the Crowns homes are from previous, thousands of years ago, kings and Queens. When the Queen goes on holiday, or when Charles has a holiday with Camilla they can hardly turn up at Premier inns. Its an insult. Her name is Catherine, as repeatedly requested by William. Should we call him Billy then?. Also her maiden name ceased to be her maiden name on her marriage day. Its Windsor now. When "Billy" becomes king she will be Princess of Wales, or Catherine Wales. Our last King William was known as Billy. He was King William of Orange. He is celebrated each year in Northern Ireland by the Orangemens Parade. A bit touchy for the Catholic community still.

Why would anyone be "excited" about Harry's book. Does anyone even entertain, even for a second, that it is not going to be a great book of fiction? There are 1,000's that won't waste their money or time on a piece of garbage fiction! By the way, the other reason for the move by Prince William and Catherine is to put them very, very close to the Queen. A mere 10 minute walk. Given the age of the Queen I consider it a wonderful thing to do. Their children also have become old enough to want their mates to come over and with this move they can have the freedom to be outside without the prying eyes that happens at Kensington Palace. No staff will be able to stay including the kids Nanny at the new house. It's a 4 Bedroom home and there is no room. Anyway, trying to say this is a selfish and extravagant move is quite unfair. They are also going to be paying monthly rent!

Schmeg-an Harkle has insulted many in South Africa by lying about the fire (which there never was one, no emergency vehicles or personnel were needed either), she also called the Commissioners Mansion, where they stayed, "A housing unit", sounding or implying it was like low-income housing or something!! It was beautiful. They were also insulted by Schmeg-an Harkle saying the Zimbabwean nanny was carrying Archie in a "mud" wrap, that apparently some women there use to carry little ones on their backs. Not sure why this insulted some, but it appears she is always doing or saying the wrong thing. Even in her podcasts. I hope she continues to confirm her true self so the entire world can see for themselves, the type of person she is under that phoney facade.

They were accommodated in the finest accommodation beyond the means of locals and frequently occupied by celebrities. Meghan could have been a huge asset to the Royal Family and her causes.
