So 343 dumbed down the writing to be equivalent to Halo 2/3, then they made the multiplayer more competitive. What was the critique of H5? The bungie fanboys cried about the multiplayer being too competitive and not "classic enough" (translation: not boring) so of course 343's response was to appease them with Infinite by dumbing down the multiplayer to be equivalent to a fucking 2004 game, and the campaign was changed from being too linear to being too open.

Halo used to be my favorite franchise of all time, but that loyalty has been dead ever since the release of halo 4. Every time 343 makes a new game, a sliver of hope crops up and it's always dashed against the rocks because of their false promises, out of touch management, and frankly, awful handling of the franchise as a whole. Halo never should have been a live service . Halo first and foremost is a fun party game. This over focus on competitive is taking out all the fun Gone are all the community features like pre and post game lobbies, working theater and forge modes. Call of destiny titanfield 5 guardians was released with the skinsuit of halo tacked on. 343 did everything it could to change halo into everything else but halo. 343 made a crappy live service trash of a game in halo infinite, instead of giving people what they want and have been asking for since 343 took over they do the opposite. What fans want is halo, with the gameplay and all the community features and modes in day one like before 343. Instead we get less and less. Screw 343 may they burn to the ground go out of business and someone with heart soul and maybe someone who doesn't hate halo can make a real halo game. This company is full of incompetent trash that can't do anything right while modders in one day can fix issues and problems with their games. Halo 4 and 5 had incredible management. Both 4 and 5 had more DLC within a few months than Halo Reach and 3 had combined. Also both games started development and came out fast as fuck. Halo 4 came out TWO YEARS after Halo reach, that's incredible speed. 4 and 5 were incredible games, groundbreaking for their time, speedy AAA development, with technology that we didn't see other games use until YEARS after they released. 5's matchmaking algorithms are being outsourced to CURRENT games to this very day, 8 years later. The problem is the fans. Nobody wants to work on these games anymore because they are constrained by the responses of the fans. How many people who critique Halo 5 have ever even played the game? How many of these youtubers who cry about Halo 5 "not being halo" have ever even owned an Xbox One? Less than 1/10th. Yet they dog on it all day and leave bad reviews. Halo fans are psychotic, of course no one wants to work on a series like that

Honestly I'm hoping the game does ok this year. I think its kinda unfair to get at Hintze yet because he's literally had his job 2 months and his track record on mcc is good and hes probably not allowed to say too much rn. I expect to see his influence after season 3 and if season 3 and 4 are bad then I'll be done for a while. While I love basically all the halo games, I feel like Infnite is the definition of a game spinning its wheels. Another thing to note is that doom wasn't put in stasis, doom 4 was being developed in the late 2000's, it was originally going to be more call of doom but leadership were unhappy with it delaying it significantly and reworking it into what we see now.

honestly these developments didn't surprise me. The insidious choices over at 343 even in weapons choices make me realize that arrogance breeds ignorance. From choices of adding an automatic, scopeless marksmen rifle, oh I'm sorry, "Bandit Rifle" to the monetization of multiplayer which completely deviated from the fun aspects of halo, to the horrible writing choices and useless ambiguity. Now ambiguity is beautiful but not when its everything, everywhere, all at once. Now I am no expert with writing. I do animations with story driven narratives, and I write unpublished books. But I love halo and seeing what I love being pissed on is annoying. I would of loved halo 5 to be de-canonized. But 343 brought the didact back 3 times. THREE TIMES. And its retarded. They constantly rehash old ideas thinking its genius. What they should of done was make a game about army or marine infantry during the post covenant war. dealing with the URF, covenant fringe, pirates, stopping the newly formed NCR from obtaining covenant weapons, or even dive deep into lore such as the battle of Minab, Fumirole, Sargesso- New llanelli etc. And bring in weapons that we have only seen in comics and books (IE: heavy mg, ma5k, ma2b) They literally pulled a disney and said "NAH, IT'LL BE FINE" and come up with bullshit after bullshit. It hurts because it will take possibly years for my animation to get better so I can create the visions I have. But it's even sadder that 343 destroyed halo.

343 has been overseeing and developing this franchise for over a decade and has failed epically on every level. They admitted to hiring people who hate halo to form the core of the studio. They emphasized diversity hires like Kiki wolf 🐺. They had a awesome fun classic build of halo 4 and Josh Holmes then director said SCRAP IT ITS TOO TRADITIONAL! I myself got permanently banned from for asking about and criticizing 343 for the lack of playable elites during halo 4s release. Call of destiny titanfield 5 guardians was released with the skinsuit of halo tacked on. 343 did everything it could to change halo into everything else but halo. 343 made a crappy live service trash of a game in halo infinite, instead of giving people what they want and have been asking for since 343 took over they do the opposite. What fans want is halo, with the gameplay and all the community features and modes in day one like before 343. Instead we get less and less. Screw 343 may they burn to the ground go out of business and someone with heart soul and maybe someone who doesn't hate halo can make a real halo game. This company is full of incompetent trash that can't do anything right while modders in one day can fix issues and problems with their games. I think it's time we all be honest with ourselves weather you enjoy 343 or not... It's that they shouldn't be making halo or overseeing it in any capacity. That's like letting a child killer hold another baby and expecting him to take care of it..... 343 needs to die permanently!

Calm down. Game dev studios aren't a hivemind, they are made of people. The people who have screwed Halo are all gone, purged by Joseph Staten himself, and the guy who saved MCC is in charge of Halo now. People talk about "yeah they've got new management now but 343is done too much bad", it's naïve. If we just 'hand the IP off' to another studio, BOOM, you can enjoy your new Halo 4 & Halo 5: Round 2. They will end up doing the same shit, man. It's better to just let 343i get their shit figured out instead of jumping ship right at the turnaround point. If 343i goes and another Dev studio is assigned to Halo, expect the absolute unending desecration of Halo MCC and Halo as whole to be a certainty.

My issue with the idea of putting Halo on ice for awhile is the fact that Halo ALREADY was put on ice for six years after Halo 5. Infinite already was supposed to be the reboot. I'm sorry but I'm not going to live forever. If Halo is put on ice for 10 years like Doom was then how would people like me even be able to play the next title? Halo hasn't been great since I was 18, I'm turning 32 this year and with this plan I'll be 42 then by the time the next game comes out and who knows how busy with life I will be as someone in my 40s then. Halo was already put on ice and I'm not immortal.

If the company wants this aged game, it be Blizzard or Bungie at this point (why Blizzard cause OW2). I can see Rockstar or CDproject attempting to grab the IP too but still it’s RWBY. This franchise like Star Wars Sequel are only alive through other media than gaming. Halo Infinite is only an skeleton of a perfect game everyone can accept. However production has an almost 5/6 years, so what’s to say they’re going to be better. It’s not going to change dramatically. It might as well stop getting criticism or response. Hmm, no matter what happens, I'll always love halo, those first 3 games from bungie, odst, reach, are all game I really enjoyed and have had a lot of childhood memories in with old friends, and hell, I enjoyed infinites campaign too, I thought the story was pretty decent, it's not halo 3 or reach levels of story telling or anything, but it by far beats halo 4 and 5s campaigns, I found 4 and 5 too boring. People have different opinions on infinite of course, but if a game makes you happy, and you enjoy it, then that is what makes it good, its all about a players experience, and people have different experiences.

One hard disagree here - I'm balls deep in the DOOM fandom, there's a ton of people who actually really dislike the reboot. The reboot is associated with an entirely different crowd, almost.
