I want to sing your praises for sharing this simple way to make baby booties. I watched this video when it first hit you tube and it has totally changed the way I make socks. Now every newborn in my world gets a pair of these socks. (And your baby hood pattern because you gotta keep both sides warm) (: Thank you for your generosity and love of teaching. All the best from Colorado!

ok, question. I've watched the video twice now. As I am expecting a baby girl grandbaby soon, I love the idea of a little ruffle (the purl stitch) so after we do the cuff, then do the single row of purls? Then continue with the 4 rows (i think) of the ankle?
@LoomaHat7 жыл бұрын
Hi Juanita my friend - you are correct - after the cuff - one row of purl - then continue the pattern.
@dianacrutchfield9234 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if you figured this out yet , I know it’s been 2 years . I had holes in the ankles also . I figured out that I was taking the stitch from the peg instead of the stitch behind the peg and looping it on the peg next to it . It helped and no holes when I figured what I was doing wrong

Hi Denise. These booties look really cute :) I am a beginner loom knitter and am hoping I can make these (yikes). I want to make a pair with the Bernat Baby blanket yarn because it is so soft. I see some comments below where you do not recommend using baby yarn. Why is this?
@vevea108 жыл бұрын
I hope this will help......some baby yarn doesn't have the stretch you need for booties and socks. any sock, sport yarn does well. if the baby yarn has some stretch in it it will work great. The more you knit you will be able to see the difference. The Bernat Baby Blanket yarn is stretchy but a little heavy.It will knit up beautiful.

as I said before.....some baby yarn doesn't have the stretch you need in booties and sock...most sock yarn has that stretch in it.....that is really nice......I didn't say u couldn't use baby yarn......in fact there are baby yarns that do have that stretch in it.... if you are looking for that try Bernat Pipsqueak....very nice and soft. I believe sport yarn does well for socks and booties. Feel free to use what works for you.

I am a tight knitter so I know that is not the issue. I pulled out the whole heel and did it over again thinking I had done it wrong and it happened the again. Im lost...
