Today is Friday and last Sunday I got my looms. With no previous knitting experience at all, I've decided to make everyone's Christmas gift and have so far been pumping out hats, ear warmers and 1 scarf. I was looking for a good pattern for a slouchy beanie and I think this will make a GREAT slouchy beanie! Thanks a bunch! Happy Holidays!

You do an outstanding job of teaching! Your directions are clear, you show your work well and you speak very clear! I will be here often while I try to learn. Hello Denise! I made this hat in baby size on KB's Adjustable Hat Loom with 2 strands of 4 ply(worsted weight) yarn. For the body, I tried doing 3 rows of purl, 1k1p, purl followed by 4 knit (all knits are flat knits) like you suggested but the band of rows created were too narrow so I did 7 rows of p, k1p1, p alternating with 4 k rows. Following is the pattern in detail Brim 20 rows- 1 k(ewrap) 1 p all the way (rib stitch) Body *row 21, 22, 23, 24 k (flat) (4 rows of flat knit) row 25 p row 26 1k(flat) 1 p row 27 p row 28 1k(flat) 1 p row 29 p row 30 1k(flat) 1 p row 31 p repeat from * till row 59 or desired length is reached. Row 60 k E wrap and gather the hat. _____________________________________________ Sharing these pics with you. 1) Would love to know your feedback 2) And is it ok if I post a picture of my hat on my Facebook page along with your video? Hi. My friend and I really like this stitch. Looks very nice. Do we just use the knit stitch such as the u wrap to cast on? I just want to make sure that we start off correctly. Thank you. You do great work.

Alice please remember that the cast on depends on the project. I used the eWrap cast on for my swatch

Thank you for creating this stitch my family loves Celtic designs. So I was wondering a few things I'm going to using this for a scarf I plan to use the Chain Cast on or the Scalloped Cast on would this still make the end curl or look odd? Also is there a way to make this vertical? I believe that this would look even better for a scarf if done vertically. I could just make two on a really long loom and seam them together I've done this before with another project and it worked but the end result was not very nice looking.

Hi Denise I just recently created a garter stitch cowl with fringe but I really love the look of this celtic knot! would this stitch work for a cowl. I want the cowl to have some drape to it curious if the rows of knit stitches in between would achieve this. Thanks for your feedback! ❤
@LoomaHat8 жыл бұрын
Hi Yvonne - thanks for the question - YES it will work - I have been considering adding this stitch to a cowl pattern for 2017 . Also yes more rows of knit would help
@japcrp41514 жыл бұрын
I notice when you do a video most of your yarn looks like a worsted weight yet you use the larger spaced looms and your work comes out looking wonderful. Are you using worsted weight yarn? If so how do you get your stitches so close together with no spaces making it look more like lace than a solid piece of material. Thanks in advance.
@LoomaHat4 жыл бұрын
Yes I mostly use worsted weight but the key to now having the gaps is the version of the knit stitch that I use - Uwrap instead of the eWrap which is large and loose. www.loomahat.com/knit-stitch/

isn't that just the way? lol I've started TWO, not just one but TWO, projects with yarn from Hobby Lobby that I fell in love with (yarn bee brand), only to find that I needed much more and they don't seem to be stocking those colors any more! Does starting with 2 knit rows make the edge curl?
@LoomaHat9 жыл бұрын
~Anna~ Most of the time - YES but depends on the loom and yarn and what stitch you use on the third row - what is the project you're planing to make?
@APark229 жыл бұрын
I was going to try to make a poncho by seaming together 2 long panels made on a 41 peg round loom. The third row is a purl row, correct? I planned on doing 2 rows of knit, then a purl row, and then continuing just like you showed.
