okay, the hair thing is something I wondered for a long while, I mean if you look at the eras of anime hair is one of the things with the hugest changes to it through the years. The reason is that outside of massive Sakuga stuff, the hair used to be a very big deal in animation, that's why you can watch stuff like Vampire Hunter D and see just single bits of hair waving as the character does nothing, it was a circumvention for motion done when budget was lower.

I would fight Lumi on pretty much all topic but not this one. Nekopara is textbook late 2000s early 2010s moeslop lightnovel esque, bright colors but low contrast, plasticky/glossy feel on everything and overused bloom effect. It's not my favorite style, but it has its charms in my opinion. Muv-Luv first came out in 2003 and it has a different artstyle from late 2000s and early 2010s VNs.

I'd like to say I disagree with Loomi since I do like Nekopara, but she is right about the art style being outdated. I mean I love many anime series from back when I was a kid in the 90's and up, but I wouldn't want that art style back. These days I prefer the Korean style that you see in some webtoons, think "The Extra's Academy Survival Guide".
