Oh yeah, Looney Tunes: Back in Action. One of my underrated films. As you may know, this and Who Framed Roger Rabbit inspired me for live-action/animation hybrid proyects and be the king of it. It also inspired my own Sonic the Hedgehog movie for Warner Bros., a Cartoon Cartoons movie, a Yin Yang Yo! Movie and an Animaniacs movie

You got to admit, the character development between Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck was actually touching and good. The scene where Daffy tells Bugs "what am I talking to you for? All you got to do is munch on a carrot, and people love you." Bugs actually somewhat thinks on that. Also, Bugs cares for Daffy. How many times do you see Bugs trying to Daffy his job back? Just saying.

The way they treat each other in this movie, they definitely feel like twin brothers, and that Bugs was only messing with Daffy, just to show how he loved the guy; unlike their TLTS iteration where they're more like they hate each other for a completely different reason not involving their original rivalry.

Also keep in mind that him appearing in less films was partially due to the bodily damage he accumulated due to injuries from performing his own stunts. This is in fact referenced ironically in Back in action when the character played by Fraser stated that he’s Brandon Fraser’s Stunt double.

Parts of that hold up...parts of it not so much..... I do like how the leads question "is there more" to their arranged marriage. Some of the side characters are good like Speedy. Everything else....... ....the animation was good

One thing I really liked in the movie is that Bugs actually and genuinely believed that Daffy is amusing and entertaining, wanted him to be brought back, and was reluctant to work on a new movie unless that happened, hinting that he indeed sees him as a friend/ his best friend despite their rivalry written in their movies. Personally, I think it's really sweet. ^^

Fun Fact: The Daleks from Doctor Who make a small cameo in the alien base, but they did not get permission from the rights holders to use them in the movie, and the resulting legal mess almost made it where they couldn't use the Daleks in the revived series of Doctor Who.

This used to be my favorite movie growing up. I was born in the mid 2000s. I had the Looney Tunes: Back In Action DVD I used to have several copies of the movie. I also had the Golden Collections and Spotlight Collections with the classic cartoons. I watched the minor stuff like the direct to movies like Tweety’s High Flying Adventure and Bah Humduck: A Looney Tunes Christmas and the shows like The Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries and Baby Looney Tunes. Then when the 2010s came, then there was The Looney Tunes Show which I loved and was a fan of. The Looney Tunes are still my favorite and will always stick with me for the rest of my life.

Personally I've always loved this film. Probably even more than I love 'Space Jam'. Most of it is probably because this was pretty much a love letter to Chuck Jones since Joe Dante was a massive fan of his work. Especially when even Chuck apparently didn't like 'Space Jam' all that much, and it's a shame he'd passed by the time it had come out. Still, It's a shame it's production was so all over the place, no surprise the 2nd 'Space Jam' has been taking so long to get into proper production.

One of my favorite lines from Bugs Bunny in the movie: “I think when you go to the theater, you should learn something.” (Plus, I also liked that little segment with Porky and Speedy Gonzales discussing the issue of “political correctness”.) Anyways, I’m glad that AniMat finally got around to reviewing this movie, and the score it got was pretty much what I always predicted he would give it. I’m in the camp of people who enjoys this movie and the Looney Tunes in it, even though I fully acknowledge its flaws (although as far as the”love interest thing”, I can at least be great fun that the movie veered away from having them kiss in the end-apart from a deleted scene). As for Joe Dante making this thing out of a place of hate, I wouldn’t go so far as to say this was like a “revenge fic” like how Stephen King’s sequel novel to ‘The Shining’ was meant to be towards the Kubrick film, but I do think it’s a shame that this was one of those instances where both clashing sides came out losing. I can understand treasuring the Looney Tunes and wanting to remain true to them, as I myself have felt that way about some of my own favorite properties that I’ve felt were cursed with a terrible incarnation (like a sequel or adaptation), but sometimes, you just have to make peace with that hate instead of igniting it into a war that sends everyone and everything crashing and burning.

But a few weeks ago, Warner Bros suddenly banned Pepe from the movie and future media because of the debate about Pepe representing rape and sexual assault. I know bullcrap right?

I honestly think that Steve Martin has the best acting out of all the live action actors in this movie because he is generally more of an “animated” actor in his personality even in his more humane roles like George Banks in Father of the Bride, Peter Sanderson in Bringing Down the House, and who can forget his role as Tom Baker in Cheaper by the Dozen.

I’d love to see Animat do a classic review Space Jam. Also, the animation hat will be used after the Swan Princess next. FINGERS CROSSED Animat will get Klaus from the hat because that was my request.

I really miss this film. It used to be on Netflix, but not anymore. As someone who likes Looney Tunes, I agree that the movie may have not been that great. But, I didn't think it was that bad. Let's hope that Space Jam 2 can be better.

Pop Culture references have always been a Looney Tunes stable. Foghorn Leghorn is a parody of radio character Senator Claghorn. It’s not obvious to a modern audience so I can understand you not getting the radio and movies references in the cartoons (granted the references are mostly in the 1930s and 1940s cartoons)
