Buddy is the first non-canon Warner Bros. Cartoons characters who officially first appear in "Buddy's Bear Garden" the first Warner Bros. Cartoon is the 1936 "I Love to Singa" as the true creators celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1986.

Gotta like Bosko. 👍🏽👍🏽 He isn't in blackface proper, he is a human Mickey Mouse because essentially *every* studio at the time had its own species of Mickey Mouse. My animation professor introduced that Foxy cartoon with, "See? Pointy ears. Not Mickey."

Looney Tunes... and Merrie Melodies They were immitations of Walt Disney Silly Symphony s It was deliberately so and nine tenths of their crew had worked at Disney s Whereas Max Fleisher s and Walter Lantz they did their own thing! ( Schlesinger s crew they worked for them too and other studios before coming to him!

It should be noted that Buddy appeared in a 1994 episode of "Animaniacs," in which it was stated that the Warner Siblings were added to his cartoons to make them less boring, mostly by randomly smashing him with mallets.

Needless to say Tom Palmer who directed Buddy's Day Out didn't last long. Just one Merrie Melodies short I've Got to Sing an Torch Song and compared to the Buddy short, the Merrie Melodies short was better not good but better then the disaster Day Out was.
