I got mine done today. No pain at all. I was awake during the procedure. I felt a little poke when they did the numbing medication. The medication did made me feel a lot of adrenaline for a few seconds. Other than that I didn’t feel a thing. Good luck to those who are getting this done.

@@luckyhillcharm9052 I know ur probably nervous. I was too but If you have a great team of doctors, nurses, and a anesthesiologist around u they will help reassure u that everything will be fine. I HATE being put to sleep. I was very clear my concerns. Just let them know how ur feeling and once it’s over u will be glad u did it. I am so relieved that my dr got it all and the pathology reports said it was all negative and I’m good til I see my dr next year for a annual. I was also worried about potential pregnancy and it really wasn’t that much she took out for it to shorten my cervix that much BUT if it became a issue there’s ways to fix that. When I tell u I came in with a dam list of questions I had for my dr I left no stone unturned. She also told me that I needed todo it because of my prior history and I rather do this then worry about potentially developing cancer one day.

@@TheIdgafBetch thank you for the comfort advice. Yes I'm very nervous do to my anxiety disorder I'm on anxiety medication now. I have list of question also I have implant under my arms for.borth control I'm ask her if my birth control and anesthesia will have issue. I'm sure they will give me something calm me.down. I'm stage 3 precancerous abnormal cell so it's a must be go through this surgery. I just hope like the result you come back there aren't no.more abnormal cells after they remove it where it was. I also have HPV so they are looking treamtnet little closely. I have distract change my diet and eating very clean well balance diet. I'm eating a lot of cancer killing foods like garlic everyday tomatoes and broccoli sprouts compare known to kill abnormal cells and cancer alone. I'm curious how my diet will play a big role. I also cut off alcohol and less sugar in my diet....my goal is to starve any abnormal cell. I trust my gynecologist I know she will take care of it but like you said hopefully I have good team and I will let them know I'm nervous most likely I will....do you know if they give you profopol general anaesthetic? I'm nervous about that strong drug....I know it helps me stay asleep until surgery is done. I'm scared.

@@luckyhillcharm9052 I have an anxiety disorder too I took a pill the day before and they gave me something at the hospital right before to help calm me. I have had hpv since 2015-2016 so it wasn’t going away and I tried the mushroom supplements that are suppose to help ur immune system. I tried changing my diet. I did have unprotected sex a couple times so my dr thought maybe I was re exposed at some point but still it was time to take it up a notch and stop the cycle of colposcopy ( which I also need to be put to sleep for) just to see it was low grade cells and then redo this again every few months to a year. She used the T shape cauterizing tool n showed me how she would scrape or well cut the top layer off. I had a lot of things falling out n very smelly discharge for the first two weeks but eventually it subsided. My dr also gave me azithromicin which is to help infection and flagyl for bacterial vaginosis since the smell to me seemed like something crawled up inside me and died. I made sure at the post op she knew the concerns I had and treated them accordingly and it’s like it never happened I’m fine but with the anesthesia I get nausea and have some side effects from it so I’m not sure what’s exactly they did. They gave me a anti nausea patch and made sure I didn’t feel like shit when I woke up and I didn’t get nausea later on at home. I have experienced burning when the anesthesia is administered. but this time I didn’t feel it. I think she put me out with the gas before she did it which was great. I didn’t even have a sore throat really like from when they intubate you. I never felt any discomfort from the catheter either. My dr always does that when she puts me under and takes it out before I wake up. I can’t say I have any complaints honestly it was an all women team from the anesthesiologist to the nurses and drs and anyone else helping out.

I did this in 2000. The area turned out to be bigger than they thought so .. years later a clinic visit the doc thought I was miscarring.. your cervix is dilated she said. It's open. Back to procedure.. 7 days after procedure I started hemorrhaging. Really bad. Was like turning on a tap full blast. Hospital run..it cloted and continued to heal. But..it's 2021. I understand Tissue grows back..and it's been all good since. Do those pap smears ladies.

I did the leep procedure today and it was horrible. Oh all of the doctors and staff were incredibly sweet! Probably the best hospital experience I've ever had. And the operation lasted a very short time, but I've been in agony ever since I can't sit down, sit up, crouch, bend, or pick anything up. I can barely walk 😫 I'm finally on my way home from my boyfriends house and walking up the stairs seems terrifying. I'm not saying this to scare anyone, I know there are millions of people who go through this and are perfectly fine! I'm just not one of them and I wish I were!! I was out for 2 weeks, bedridden, after my colposcopy (cervical biopsy). But my boyfriend is driving me home and every speed bump, pothole, even him sitting on his brakes just made me cry out or tear up. I just want to get home. 🏡

I had mine today. Worst part was the anxiety leading up to it and I cried when I got there out of feeling overwhelmed. I barely felt the numbing injections, though did have brief heart racing and shaky hands from the epinephrine. I didn’t feel any pain throughout, honestly. It was quick. I was most scared of the numbing and I really didn’t feel it. I had a friend come with me for support. Whole thing was very quick. Several hours later, I have some cramping. Otherwise, it was not bad at all. You will be okay, if you have to get it done

I'm epileptic and I found out I am allergic to lidocaine because of my leep. I had a seizure barely walking into the clinic office after the procedure. I came back for a check up a week and a half later because I didn't heal well and ended up in the ER from bleeding out huge clots the size of golf balls. To the advice of ER dr I went back to my OBGYN and he tried to pass it off that he didn't give me too much lidocaine, but after doing some research some epileptics are sensitive to lidocaine and induces seizures. Let's just say I no longer have this Dr and I unfortunately can't have lidocaine IV

What percentage of success is there with Leep? I ask because I have had one and my Gyno called me and gave me 2 choices; 2nd Leep or Hysterectomy? What would be the purpose of the 2nd Leep then, to see if the abnormal cells are still there? The first sample from the Leep had abnormal cells. Thanks!

The fact that even women physicians normalize these procedures in the office is absolutely barbaric. Women do not need to accept care like this. Ask and if need be, insist on better care!!! All of these procedures can absolutely be done in the OR, insurance WILL cover it!! Leap, IUD and even my PAPs are done in the OR. Normalize comfort care for women!!!!!!!!!

@MalignDreams
@MalignDreams 2 жыл бұрын
About 6 to 10 in. But all of that doesn't go in you! From the opening of your vagina to your cervix is on average about 6 in or so, and then they have to be able to hold it and steer it right? So they need a couple extra inches for that. Only a very teeny tiny part of it goes in you.
