What a joyful romp through sound! The tangle of branches reflects the quality of the music. Your organic explorations remind me of early Gong.

I always thought that Headrush pedal was basically the most unusable parts of the Whammy. Not so! What an absolute mess in the best possible way. Some great unexpected tones!

Killer takes, starting right off with a Monster with the second so eerie. Love the crazy computer sounds that follow. One of them has an Irish Bag Pipe feel yet mystical, I think it was number 4. Perfect sounds for the wasteland. Musical Noise at its best. I always enjoy the uniqueness of your creativity Roger. Nice playing Man!

The shifts of some of the takes were pretty nice and some really great sounds all throughout! Loved the first one felt like something running out of batteries at times in the funnest of ways and the fourth one i believe was also a favorite with all the layers going to create something great. Nice ones 👌

This is very unique and I think you broke new ground. The pulsation coupled with the detuning and hint of tonal environment create an atmosphere that's uniquely your own; accessible yet deranged and brilliant. I think it's one of the best pieces you've done to date.
@loopbasedzero17 күн бұрын
Thank you Karl, I appreciate you saying so. I've noticed that the most successful pieces have the simplest back-bone, sometimes as few as two notes. Generally 2 - 4. Sometimes if the back-bone sounds too simple, I will replay the phrase into the looper at a different pitch, to give it a quirky off kilter sound.

@@loopbasedzero I was wondering how you did that. I;m not sure you're familiar with Barney Childs, who was part of the aleatoric movement from the 1960s onward but he was a brilliant composition professor at the Univesity of Redlands where I was a freshman. Anyway, he emphasized the importance of "economy of means," and that's pretty much what you're describing and effectively demonstrating.

When I was a kid, our house backed onto a park that was built on swamp, it never dried out, I sunk right in it a few times. Later on in my teens I found out that park was absolute riddled with magic mushrooms so you can imagine how I spent much of my time and this feels like some allegation of those memories. Awesome sounds and exploration, brother. Right on.

Thanks for the Xmas selection box!! (In the UK, it is a Xmas tradition to give children selection boxes which contain the most popular candy and chocolate bars) Yours is healthier though; I'll try it on some kids and see how it goes as an alternative!! Great original work and many thanks!!
