I remember watching this for the first time and thinking "that guy kinda looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt but there's no way that's him" and then I looked it up and it turns out it WAS him and just wow they did an amazing job with his face

I just watched Looper and I swear I knew the young Joe looked familiar and it wasn't till I got to the credits that I realized it was Joseph Gordon. Pretty cool.

JGL nailed it in this role. The prosthetics wouldn’t have sold it by themself but he really got into it and put forth an excellent performance. I will say when I first saw him I thought he looks a bit like a video game character. I could totally see that face in a grand theft auto game.

I loved JGL's make up SO MUCH that after the movie ended, knowing that I would never see THAT JGL again kinda depressed me. XD Genius indeed.

People have said they could've just used JGL in age makeup for Old Joe, or Bruce Willis CGI-deaged for Young Joe, but to me the way they went was way more fun and interesting. The filmmakers say right here the makeup wasn't trying to be a perfect replica of young Willis, but just enough to let the performances do the rest of the work. I'm happy to buy into that approach with them and think that's more impressive than just relying on SFX. Great film.

wow they did a great job, when I first see the movie I didn't look for the cast list, and I thought younger Joe looks like Joseph Gordon but I was pretty sure that he's totally a different actor. I was wrong.

Hahaha....all this time when I first saw the movie, I kept thinking, that's not Gordon-Levitt. Who the hell is this guy.?!?!? It never dawned on me it was the subtlety of the visual effects makeup. I love the movie and the characters. Great job.

That is a very good idea. It wouldn't be likely to happen because they probably wanted to face of Bruce Willis to sell tickets - which is not how it should be. Nevertheless, this would be the right thing to do.
