Dang, that could have been an absolute disaster going into emergency on a curve with an approaching stacker on the adjacent track! We've see these before on this channel, where the brakes on the rear half of the train are still applying while the ones in front are already engaged and on a curve, even at slower speeds than this.

Does anybody know who the people are whose names are on the passenger cars in the CSX Transportation train? Are they CSX bigwigs or railroad barons or what? I keep thinking that I should recognize them, but maybe it's just that they all sound like historical figures. Any info would be appreciated! This was another gorgeous one--especially the Fort Madison footage, the Altoona shots, and of course that beautiful, heart-catching ending. Thank you!
@kennethfuller83478 ай бұрын
Yes, the names on the coaches are former, and a couple present, CSX dignitaries. And to the best of my knowledge, the cars are lined up in the order they were president or CEO of Chessie System and then CSX. I've noticed that before when watching that train roll by.
@donnaj99648 ай бұрын
@@kennethfuller8347 Terrific--I hoped that someone would know because this channel has so many knowledgeable watchers. And if the named cars are lined up in chronological order it would explain why the names at the end have a more "Edwardian" sound to them. Thank you so much!

Those BN cars are high side gons or woodchip cars not hoppers. There are no unloading chutes on the bottom so therefore it doesn't use gravity to unload like a hopper. Other than that a good video overall.

Dragging equipment detectors didn't catch this one. BNSF requires the conductor on a stopped train on a siding to go out and inspect the passing train. Don't know if just casual RR employees are required to watch/inspect passing trains.
